Off we go to Mizzou where it certainly will be chilly! Mizzou is 12-18 (1-8), but don't be fooled as they're coming off 2 mid-week wins vs. UT Martin 13-3 and 15-9. Could be finding their footing just as the Gators come to town. It’s very important for our Gators to take the field focused for the immediate task at hand and win these ball games one at the time. Let’s do this Gators!
A sweep against arguably the worst team in the SEC would be huge. Why can’t I shake the feeling that we’re going to make them look CWS-bound?
Gators are 26-4 against MO with Sully. All of the losses have come in Columbia. 2 of them in 15 and 1 in 22. FYI--in 17 we went to Columbia a week earlier than this year with 9 losses--including being swept by Auburn!
Speaking of "hit by pitch", HP in score book, here's a couple stats for you. Gators fans think it isn't a real ballgame until someone is hit by a pitch. Gator pitching has hit 29 players so far this season. On the other hand Gator players have been hit 51 times. Thirteen Gator players have been hit. Guess which player has been hit the most...NOPE... not him. Give up? How about Luke Heyman. Nine times. Cade "Foxy" Kurland is second with eight. Next highest is Ty Evans and Colby Shelton with 5. Up until the FAMU game Tyler Shelnut was hit just once. After the game the number is four. He is tied with three subs: Albert, Garrison and Guy. Maybe they won't get hit this weekend, but don't count of it.
Of course we will . On Monday everyone will look around and post “but I thought “ UF has always struggled in these types of situations. All sports!
Mizzus new HC said in a in game interview a couple weeks ago.. im paraphrasing here... ' We arent concerned with production & results this year' ...lol Still cant believe they fired Bieser(now at Jax St). Doubt Mizzu will ever have a HC that good again.
Which is why I don't think this weekend will be a walk in the park..... As example....FSU is down 3-1 to BC in Boston as we speak.
