Living in Tallahassee as a Hurricanes fan is tough but I am very much looking forward to the downfall FSU is going to have this season. I don't think they realize how much talent they lost and how bad their high school recruiting has been. You aren't going to just replace all of those players in the portal. Their hit rate was amazing and early indications from their own reporters are they have missed on a good amount of their transfers. Jordan Travis covered up a lot of problems for them on offense and they are literally losing 2 NFL Wrs, 1 NFL RB, 1 NFL TE, and a really really good college QB.
Perhaps I could entertain the thought had they not gotten blown off the face of the planet by the team that lost to the team that lost handily to the national championship team.
I was blown away by how many people were surprised by this when it all came down. I'm not kidding when I say this. I think their obnoxious overuse of the chop has become a minor subjective element in the playoff selection process. Nobody outside of Tallahassee wants to hear that shit nonstop for over 3 hours.
My experience with FSU fans/boosters is that no matter what transpires at that crappy place there is never shame, embarrassment or remorse.
If it turns out that way, great. If only some of their ACC opponents just manage to beat them and put their flash in the pan season behind us.
I think FSU has a really good shot of losing to GT to open the season. GT is going to be pretty good and it's one of those Week 0 games in Ireland. GT will have the better QB in Haynes King. Would be a great way to start the year.
The Dyke is getting a renovation (taxpayer funded of course to the tune of $20 million from “blueprint” funds). Had a little over 18k at the “Spring Showcase” and it’s anticipated that 2024 capacity will only be around 50k. When completed, seating capacity will be around 70k a reduction of 10k from previous high capacity.
