Doesn't Searcy play Jack? I wish they would be more specific about the front four positions. An "Edge" can be a 275 pound DL lined up in the strong side or a 245 pound LB hybrid lined up in the weak side. They are rarely interchangeable. Pyburn is the only player who was on the depth chart at both positions.

 

To me the Edge equates to the Jack LB'er in a traditional 3-4 that almost always has his hand in the dirt. The DE is on the other end of the line and generally almost as big as the DT.

 

Agreed. Collins and McCray won't stay in that range. Collins is passed that already.

 

Yeah getting a 5 star WR would’ve changed this class entirely. So yes I will definitely take that

 

Since this is Portal Thoughts - what is the prevailing thoughts on what happens to our roster come April 16?

No, but you should probably panic anyway. It’s so much fun.

 

That was funny - I’m hoping our competition panics more than the Gator faithful.

 

We got two five stars already. We may need several more million to compete with Georgia. My guess is maybe 10.

Oregon state all conference and coal Walker finalists RB hit the portal. (As usual….. Miami fans stated that UM was back channeling a top tier RB and expect him to be a cane. ). They claim this a lot but who knows.

 

Four sacks two years? he probably lost his job

 

Likely.

 

14 games is little bit over a year. if he played 26 games, equivalent to two years, and only had four sacks, I would be worried. With our lack of depth, this would be a good pick up

 

Thought we are deep at Edge.

 

Plays the other end spot we are not deep at.

 

Four sacks and 12 games is not very good and if we need that we are in big trouble. He’s young though so hopefully he has better numbers in his future if somebody wants him.

 

Can we find an impactful WR and DE in the transfer portal? Maybe another seasoned OL ?

 

Isn't today portal (re)opening day?
