'You get to Disney World and it's closed': FSU tries to move on from CFP snub Lots of crying about the “injustice” of not being seen as a top-4 team. Lots of talk of “resilience” of coming back from the injustice. Zero talk about the record-setting 63-3 loss to Georgia that strongly suggested (being generous there) that SWAC was not a top-4 team.
Yeah ... really thought 63-3 (torched by a team that also didn't make the play-offs) would put that to rest ...
Come on War, you know the Noles better than that. We’ve got at least 3-4 more years of listening to their BS about the so-called snub. They were a decent team in a garbage conference that needed substantial help from their conference refs to beat ScUM, UF, and Louisville. Without that help, they are 9-2 at best with like the 90th ranked schedule in the country. Might be best to get to your liquor store and stock up on provisions. We will need to numb our brains to prevent the upcoming nausea and violent urge to hurl.
They were also very very lucky to beat Clemson. If Clemson simply makes a 30 yarder FSU loses. FSU's season was built on chewing gum and bailing wire. No way no how should they have made a 4-team playoff. Now if we had a 12 team playoff- then yes, but their own conference commish killed that proposal so that means they have no one to blame but themselves. Oh- and Bobby for pushing them into the lackluster ACC 30+ years ago.
They barely beat a not very good gators team, and were losing going in to the 4th quarter at the Swamp
Strength of Schedule rankings should be more visible and should be part of the formula in the future college football playoffs rankings system.
I remember georgia's backups scoring almost at will so that negates the "we were without our starters", as well.
We can no longer let crappy teams that have a crappy schedules sneak into the playoffs becasue they play in a crappy conference. Winning the ACC is not enough to get them in, IMHO unless their best teams all play each other. That still might not be good enough for the ACC.
Their starters not playing is a complete YOU problem. UGA had just as much of an argument, maybe more so, but they all suited up and played. How can anyone have any sympathy for a team that had 8 starters, at the game, on the sideline but not playing? I would be embarrassed if it were my team.
Georgia deserved to be there if anyone did that was left out. They would’ve still been the favorites.
