I think it is informative, and not at all surprising, that the mean responses of Republicans and Democrats are almost exact mirrors of one another. While there are real differences between the values and goals of the two groups, the two are caught up in virtually the same righteous conflict with the other.
Carter was likely the most intelligent, objectively. He was a nuclear scientist/engineer. That doesn’t mean he was the best.
Still seems more plausible that Doh! Biden garnering more votes than Barrack Obama. ...maybe it was just the intel community manipulating mindless minions via social media... I guess that vindicates y'all.
Yes, he was the most intelligent per IQ. ...and absolutely, categorically it did not and does not mean he was the best. He straight up sucked out loud. He had Americans feeling really shitty about the USA... ....just like the America hating noe-prog. Democrats of today, are actively striving to achieve again. "....our president has a first name, it's J-i-m-m-y....our president has a second name, is C-a-r-t-e-r...ohhhh we love to hate him every day, and if you ask me why I'll saaaayyyy.... ...cause Jimmy Carter has a way of *screwing* up the USA..."
...as directed by their mind controlling deep state intel community. Follow. Thine. Directives. Think ye not for thine ownseff.
To be fair, we might have to consider whether the hypothetical home invasion was actually just a "baited trap" due to having "scant security." As I was considering that, it seemed the answer was whether that poster was sufficiently armed and in a clear, formidable defensive posture. That, apparently, seems to be the difference between whether or not a violent assault is acceptable.
Can you imagine being a grown adult and taking the time to log into a political forum just to add this contribution?
The toxic hateful anger consuming our citizenship is demonstrated daily on this forum. I fear it will only intensify and ultimately result in the destruction of our nation. In the 23 years I've been a Gator Country member and poster I've watch the animus displayed on this forum exponentially increase as members of one side vs the other ratchet up their insulting attacks. If the animosity isn't scaled back it will explode in destructive violence. And sad to say, I know there are some who want exactly this. Fools. It will solve nothing but destroy any hope of achieving what the inciters mistakenly invision would come of such a violent conflagration. When one side pushes, the other side is inclined to push back harder, and the situation inevitably escalates. I fear the time for reconciliation and remediation has passed us by. I hope I'm wrong.
Nah...the Dems'll come back around. Every 30 years or so, they go waaaaayyyy dumb, face plant...then make their way back to common sense. They'll be singing Yankee Doodle Dandy and waving the stars n stripes within a couple of years, and all this angry freak-out vitriol will be a distant memory. (...they just stole the 2020 election to delay the transition by a 4 year cycle...).
Did Hilary Clinton honor the election in 2016? Or did she and the DNC invent a hit piece (FAKE DOSSIER) that lingered throughout the entire 4 years of President Trump's time in office? That was NO DOSSIER, that was a treasonous list of lies deigned to take down a sitting president.
The hatred and vitriol seemed to be flowing just fine with out my contributions for the last 6 weeks or so. I only stick out (to the extent I do), as mere counter balance to the rabid vitriol that spews daily from the Left on here. It's frankly funny as hell, how incredibly pissed off the lefties on here get, for a handful of voices that don't quite toe the party line, or sign in perfect harmony. Whatever. As a wise ol' sage friend of the family used say: !@#@!$!#@'m if they can't take a joke.
With this I can agree. But it does sound like you are using it to justify your own vitriol. Be better. From the middle position I stand it appears to me the worst of the "vitriol" comes from the extreme right.
For many years I would have said about the same things and he arguably did some things wrong. More notably he didn’t project well as a leader. Having said that he was dealt a pretty tough hand and did have some notable accomplishments - The Israel and Egypt peace deal was monumental - He did appoint Paul Volcker to the fed, who probably has more to do with decades of controlled inflation than anybody else. By all accounts he knew the harsh actions Volcker would take, and still appointed him. Not many politicians have the backbone to do that. He is probably the most intelligent president we have had in recent history and I’d say he probably has the highest level of moral character. Unfortunately those attributes don’t always directly correlate with being an effective President.
I don't know how true that is, but if it was, I would say that's a hell of an accomplishment actually, very difficult to do. Self-reflection and introspection isn't an American trait, particularly in politics. Also the only president to call Israel what it is, an apartheid state, and that was decades ago. Its unfortunate he led us down the neo-liberal path which we are still on decades later, so few will remember his presidency fondly. Republicans should remember him fondly since he basically fractured the New Deal coalition permanently by alienating labor and set the Dems on the path to essentially being a rival conservative party.
If Trump wins, the divide will only get worse. The media will not stop the negativity and unfortunately, we have to many Americans that believe everything the media tells them. They can’t think for themselves. Sad really. I wish the FCC would regulate the crap the media puts out. There should be consequences.
