SCOTUS has been busy slam dunking right wing victims and snowflakes Catholic MAGA kid who stared down Native American lost his appeal to sue media as a victim of cancel culture. Supreme Court won't hear Nicholas Sandmann 'cancel culture' case Minnesota lady lost appeal suit relating to her refusal of taking vaccine - claiming her body is her temple Supreme Court denies appeal COVID vaccine religious beliefs appeal
Her body is her temple? If she is like the average American, that temple is probably a couple of Big Macs away from a major cardiac event. Just a hunch.
I have a friend that worked for the CDC for 40 years before retiring who wouldn't get vaccinated. I thought that was kind of strange.
It was a little snarky, but i was on my way to a trail head for mtb ride when a shower broke out, so i am a bit grumpy.
I have a decent wreck about once a week. I imagine I will have to dial it back soon, but I'm only 60. We close the trails here when it rains, not for safety of the rider but because it damages the trail to ride them wet.
I recall a number of conservatives posted memes of a picture of Nicolas Sandmann with the caption "CNN's highest paid employee"in the humor thread when in reality the network probably settled with Sandmann for around 50 thousand dollars. Actually not that bad for a high school student who didn't suffer any economic damages but nowhere remotely close to the many millions of dollars that his attorney Lin Wood was requesting. As a point of information Wood ended up voluntarily surrendering his license to practice law rather than face disbarment over his role in the fake elector scheme.
Outside of Thomas and Alito, it feels like they saw what they were doing to the court’s reputation and to the country, and have tried to at least be ideologically consistent recently, if not downright centrist. But when I see that from them, I always fear it’s a trade off for another massive sea change coming.
I managed to fracture my scapula in a mountain bike accident back in 2000. The front tire of my bike got stuck between two boards in a makeshift bridge over a creek. The bike came to an immediate stop and I went flying landing on my shoulder. I'm over 70 and still ride although I stay off difficult trails.
Is he a punk? I know he got caught the incident, but as I understand this video alone didn't show him being a punk. Has he been doing punk stuff since then?
It's too bad that using the term 'cancel culture' wasn't seen as a significant legal issue. Perhaps if he'd blamed 'elitists' and 'legacy media' the court would have been swayed.
Not absolutely sure he’s a punk but he has a very punchable face. I find people with punchable faces usually have major personality disorders so I am suspicious.
Yep. I was listening to his explanation that they got permission from their teacher to do school chants to counter what a group of black people were saying to them. You will hear that annoying, sadly familiar warchant coming from his classmates. OK, I thought, let's go see what Native American mascot Covington High from Kentucky uses. They are (or were) the Colonels. Now, I admit I am not familiar with the hierarchy of the indigenous tribes, I am unaware of any that use military ranks. I also fail to understand what effect the warchant was intended to have on the Black Hebrew Israelites. So, yeah, between the MAGA hat, that smirk, the way his classmates were conducting themselves, his posture throughout and the BS explanation, I'm sticking with punk. If he has moved on, good for him.
I got another month to wait at this point. Another foot coming this week. Guess I'll enjoy Spring skiing til May. Poor me.
