    1. I agreed the Easter thing was misinformation. Said so up thread.

    2. Over-saturation is a term I use for any cause du jour. Heck, many Christian holidays have been watered down into marketing strategies.

    3. Lol. When was the last time? I have told the story a million times of the one I recently hired in the past couple years. GREAT employee. Heck they never talked about their identity. Though it was physically obvious and the background check verified it.

There is also the really nice kid at Moe's a block from my office. Several at my gym...etc

....Oh, and one of my best friends daughter who we love deeply and which I have also mentioned here multiple times.

I mean where do you live? If you have seen one in 30 years? :D

This is all sort of my point. One can interact, care and love people they disagree with, while not showing bigotry or discrimination towards them.

Transgender derangement syndrome? LGBTQ DS writ large?

Probably true. I didnt know until this thread.

I think both sides really care less about the people involved and more about the political firestorm they can create.

    So then what’s the “oversaturation”?

I’m saying it’s been 30 years since I’ve seen an obvious trans person. I’m sure I’ve encountered people with gender issues, I guess I can think of a few people at publix or food service or whatever. But i can’t say I know of any personally at present. That’s my point. Where is this “oversaturation”, other than the apparent right wing obsession and wanting to pass laws which deprive them of their rights? How can you claim to love a person but then essentially want to criminalize them? It doesn’t add up.

I am talking about oversaturated in the marketing and/or political sense.

I am also not sure where I called for criminalizing anything? If I implied that, i certainly did not mean to. I think they are 100% afforded the same rights as me.

Amen and well said. Looks like some would only favor a Trans Day of Invisibility, celebrated daily.

What else would you call the outrage?
Do I see bigotry in Doc posting a cross-shaped doobie as a joke in reference to Easter falling on 4/20 next year? No. Is it possible somebody made a bigoted comment about Christians in this thread? Yes. But I don't recall any specific comment, and I'm not going to read through the entire thread again, as I have a short break before I have to get back to work. If there's a specific post you have in mind, let me know.

You say to get back to you when somebody mistreats or discriminates against somebody. That's what this entire right-wing meltdown has been. If Easter happened to fall on MLK Day, would right-wing Christians express outrage over sharing the day with Dr. King or with Biden posting a message honoring Dr. King? How about if Easter fell on Veterans' Day: Would right-wing Christians be furious over sharing Easter with veterans? What if Easter fell on the same day as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day? Would right-wing Christians be angry over sharing a day with law enforcement? The answer to all of these questions is no.

Why are some right-wing Christians so angry over Easter sharing a day with Transgender Day of Visibility? Why are they offended over Biden recognizing a day that has fallen on March 31 for quite a while now? We both know the answer. And it isn't one that is kind or respectful towards transgender people.

Except he was commenting to me and I was clear that even Christian celebrations have been co-opted for marketing and political gain.

Like 0.00001% people know about this. There is no real "outrage". My guess is no one here knew about it prior to this thread.

...But even then, outrage over sharing the day, while silly, is not bigotry. Using scary words to craft your narrative does not redefine the actual definition of the words.

Why they were outraged is the bigotry. I noticed you didn't answer the questions in my post. Not surprised. The answers reveal the hollowness of your position.

P.S. I'm pretty sure it was a major story on the Fox News website, and I saw multiple Republican politicians (including U.S. Senators) outraged over it on social media. So let's not pretend that nobody was talking about it outside this thread.

I have a friend who “lost his son” three years ago. At that time his son, while still in highschool, expressed an interest in “transitioning.”

My friend, the father, was completely snowed under by school admins and psychs who held him hostage to the suicide trope.

    I can’t imagine the anguish.

What questions did you want answered. They seemed rhetorical to me.

But you asked why many are outraged. I assume the tiny amount of people that even know about it are upset due to MISINFORMATION. (Which i have ...3 times now ...called this) They have been convinced by people with agendas that this was done as an attack on Easter.

Again, this stuff is all driven by agendas.
Marketing, politics etc... blah blah blah.

I didn't watch Fox News yesterday, but here's a clip from today talking about the Easter Outrage.

Agreed. This thread was the first time I heard about it. Outside of here, I read or saw nothing other than a few indignant X-Tweets.

I don't know what your statement means. I can't disagree or agree with it if I don't know what you meant by it. What do you believe they have done to the calendar?

Truth is, the TRUE meaning of Easter for Christians is that Jesus death and resurrection were for MY sins. To use the day as anything other than seeing my own flaws and needs for His sacrificial love for ALL of us is missing the point entirely.

Jesus loves...and died and rose for all of us equally. I am saddened by followers of Christ who have been misled into thinking we some how need Jesus less than the sinners we deem worse than ourselves.
