If we're being honest, best DL for us last year is a pretty low bar. Especially when it comes to QB pressure.
Talent wise yes but with his attitude, he no he isn’t. If you have some leaders to keep him in line maybe but it doesn’t look like we do.
This is a GREAT point that I overlooked. Where are the older guys leading by example and demanding all out effort 24/7?
What’s obvious to me is that we had some negativity on the team, particularly on the defense. A couple of coaches, a couple of players can be poison to a team and maybe I’m wrong but that’s what we had. I feel like I spotted it on the sideline. I think when AA was brought in to run the defense some of the older coaches resented it and that trickled down to a few players. “Huge loss”: if he was part of the problem then it’s a loss we needed to take. He’s gifted athletically so he may be on a mission now to prove the only thing wrong at Florida was Florida, but even if he is an All American this year at Ole Miss I’m glad he’s gone. Good freaking riddance!
You couldn’t be less useful than that play if you tried. But he didn’t take every play off that bad, and his entire body of work may well have been better than the next guy up. Deep we weren’t the last 2 seasons
Agreed. I'm not suggesting taking him off scholarship, but after that, you can sit the rest of this possession. Edit: If that doesn't get the point across then there is a larger issue.
Board sentiment means nothing. The board has always loved current players and coaches even if they were the worst performers. It was up to the board we’d still have Muschamp. It’s loyalty but it’s not objective. People who do this for a living and are objective rank Princely pretty high. His PFF was best on the D and his portal rank was near the top of all positions. Im hoping his replacement becomes a first round pick and better than Princely. But that doesn’t change the fact Princely is a good football player
Yes, UF was bad defense (96th). Ole Miss had an inordinate number of upper class on their D last year and was only slightly better (74th) than UF. So, Princely isn't going to convince me the coaching level is that much better at Ole Miss because its not. Maybe he's decided to actually listen to coaches? Princely has some talent but I think he could have character issues and they keep showing up. A player that keeps making excuses never has been nor will he ever be a great leader or player. I believe his plan was to have a great year and turn pro, but his production and play was very average and he was not able to go to the NFL, thus not that highly rated, and decided to go to Ole Miss to hopefully bring up his ratings. This is not a big loss based on his leadership skills and his actual production. I wish him the best, but he was not at the level of what we are used to at UF.
Really? Half this board would have you believe the other half hate everyone and everything associated with UF.
The half that thinks a coach should be fired or a player isn’t elite ends up getting banned until they are proven right. This has been the case for like 20 years If Princely returned this board would be thrilled that we returned one of the highest rated edges in the conference
Some of the serial negative posters are delusional if they think their numbers total half the board. i would say its more like 5 to 10 posters.
Equating this to a year end review with an employer it's messed up to say negative things to the boss about a fellow employee unless there's a major work ethic issue or something. Not having solidarity with your fellow employees/teammates is selfish.
