Baseball Around the SEC - Week 7 (3/28 - 4/3/24)

Good to see the tiggers jumping out to a 2-5 conference start!

 

The 3 sec tiggers are a combined 4-17

 

UGA vs TN is like Taliban vs ISIS. I do live in Knoxville, so I like to see Vols humbled.

 

If LSU falls in the finale vs Arkansas I think they're in trouble. Still have 4 series vs ranked teams, would have almost 0 margin for error at that point.

 

Holman had far from his best outing. And despite a heroic performance out of the bullpen from left-hander Griffin Herring, right-hander Thatcher Hurd allowed a walk-off double to Hudson White in the 10th inning to give Arkansas the series victory at Baum-Walker Stadium with a 4-3 victory.
"It's a great baseball game, two really good teams," coach Jay Johnson said. "They're a little better right now and they deserved to win."
LSU jumped on the board first in the third inning and scored in the sixth, but after that had just two hits for the rest of the night.
The Tigers scored first in the third thanks to a two-out, two-strike single from Josh Pearson with the bases loaded that scored a pair of runs. Their third run of the night came on a sacrifice fly from Ashton Larson.
LSU (20-8, 2-6) had a chance to add on more runs in the sixth inning and take the lead with runners on first and second and one out but couldn't capitalize. Milam grounded into a double play to end the inning.
"Nobody's kind of going through this stretch that we have in front of us and I would even argue within the league (in terms of the schedule). You know what I mean?" Johnson said. "But that's a part of it. And they all came here to get to play in games like tonight."

Vols lead sec w/ 330 BA.. 5th in ERA at 3.88,,but only 4-4 vs a fairly 'weak', by comparison, sec slate so far.

 

Why not corndog?
