Another great catch by Katie!!! Excellent win by Florida. They needed it badly. I do like this Miss. State team. They are battlers and very gritty.

We probably win last night’s game if Kistler hadn’t been lifted defensively for Goelz in that one inning for some reason.

 

And several other plays that could or should have been made that can change games

 

I'm sure he's aware that his starting 2B is hitting .185 with a .279 OBP and strikes out 1 out of every 3 at-bats.

 

And yet he keeps putting her out there. He must know something you don't.

 

Folks it's called pedigree!! What does a good basketball coach tell a shooter in a slump, keep shooting!! Williams girl will be fine. When she starts to break out all of a sudden folks will jump back on the wagon. Let Walton coach he knows what he is doing. Just look at the outfield fence.

 

I want to clarify that my remarks weren't aimed at Mia Williams personally. I support all Gators in the lineup equally. I believe it's unjust and uncalled for to single her out. My intention was to highlight her season statistics and suggest Coach Walton consider some adjustments to the lineup. I genuinely hope Mia finds her stride and starts delivering some impressive performances moving forward.

 

Erickson came through big today for us.

 

Game 2 hopefully was a good learning experience for the batters. The dogs pitching exposed UF batters as having trouble with the drop ball. UF had many batters swinging at balls dropping on the plate or the dirt.

MSU is a free-swinging hard-hitting team with average pitching. If they had a top pitcher, they'd be even more difficult to beat than they are now. I like this MSU team. They are a team of fighters.

 

As pointed out by ocalaman, all of the Gators were having trouble with the drop ball in game 2.

In Mia's defense, it was pointed out last weekend against UK that she has corrected a vision issue with new glasses. She hit really well last weekend.

My guess is CTM sees Mia as the player of the future at 2nd base and he's getting her all of the reps he can get her. By the end of the season, Mia will likely be playing like a sophomore with much higher offensive production numbers. Mia has all of the tools to be a success. Patience grasshopper, we're 30-5 and Mia has yet to cost UF a loss. In the meantime, Reagan is in the lineup daily as DP, 2nd, or as yesterday at 3rd.

 

Downfall pitching has been our struggle. Nothing new there. Credit to the pitcher she had great movement. She also was slower I belive. We jsut need to adjust a little more quickly.
