You know what the irony is? The shortest route to a desired goal is to do it RIGHT from the beginning. If you want to satisfy the fans, do it correctly and with conviction from the beginning.
I'm not sure we would have wanted to give freshmen 100% of the snaps to allow Uman to be benched temporarily or for good. Castell really could have used some plays off to get coached up more as a freshman. I thought CBN did a pretty good job with getting the freshmen involved. We simply had to rely on some guys who took plays off, like Kimber also. Even Marshall hasn't been 100% passion in all his games. We need young guys to develop to push the upperclassmen and it doesn't happen overnight.
Some players you will never have to tell them to give max effort. Clearly, Princely was not one of those players. So, who does that responsibility then fall upon? Am I giving him a pass, of course not, but on field accountability in my mind starts and stops with the coaching staff. If the issue is off field, ETN DUI for an example, that is on the player. Of course, with that same example there is consideration to a general culture problem as well, but first and foremost it is the individual. For the record I was never all that pressed about his departure, replacement level player IMO.
A lot of nuance in how long you take them out. Is this a trend? Am I partially at fault as a coach for not rotating because he is gassed? Etc. At the end of the day the message needs to be: If that is what you are going to give me on the field, then I don't need you on the field.
Is he telling the truth? All of the posters think he is lying. Did my eye deceive me? How terrible was this defense.
wasn’t he all SEC and easily our highest rated D player? He definitely took plays off but ragging arguably our best player isn’t a good look for our remaining guys Pro Football Focus’ player grades for the Florida Gators | GatorCountry.com
Well, no one said "100%" to the freshmen...but I get your point. Interesting though that you highlighted 3 upperclassmen that took plays off...One of which was preseason ALL SEC then regressed for the 2nd straight season....and two of which are now gone.
No doubt he’s talented but he’s not a dog. He’s more interested in stats that being a teammate or at least that’s how it seemed when he was here. He’s a kid and maybe he will mature into a good nfl player. Greenard was an animal and you never saw weak effort video on him.
It takes 109% effort all around, practice or games to play on Sundays. There are a very few select elite guys that can just talent their way there.
he was referring to 100% of snaps, not effort. but yes, we’re on the same page as I’ve posted…100% effort 24/7 or it’s just not going to work.
Well, we have to see how he does this season and how our guys do in his place. Going on his stats and what the board sentiment seems to be, does not feel like a great loss of production and especially attitude.
Yes. Are you arguing that we don't have another player on the roster that could be more useful than what we see in that clip?
