And I will take a 14 rating if we get a QB like Lagway every time!

Well , maybe every three years. Multiple Lawways don’t help much unless the first one is injured. Give me a Siler in year two. Nelson in year three and throw in a Fred Taylor and an Ike Hilliard any year.

Hey doc, a little off topic, but I appreciate the upbeat nature of your recent threads. Suits my way of thinking about the offseason.
    Appreciate it.

Every year hope springs eternal, we've all heard it, OL is bonding, so and so is looking great, and so on. Not saying it can't happen this year, but honestly, we won't know till the games begin. I suspect every SEC team says the same thing. I doubt the press or coaches or players will come out and say, "you know what, we're really sucky.

"'Reggie nelson was a hard hitter and a sure tackler because his instincts and reads put him in a great position early on to make the plays with confidence and no hesitation."'[/QUOTE]

To be fair Reggie Nelson was special. Ahmad Black was great and Matt Elam was a terror but Reggie was special IMHO.
We currently don't have anybody on this team that could even carry their jockstraps.

I think the OK drill is fantastic, but NFL owners banned it to reduce concussions. Apparently, many leagues have followed the NFL! DO you know if it is permitted in CFB?

I really hope that Chimere Dike and Aiden Mizell continue to light it up in the receiver group. If these two can really contribute with Trey Wilson, look out! If Kahliel Jackson can have another terrific year, then that will remind me of Trask's receiver group in 2021, Kyle Pitts, Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes, and Jacob Copeland. Notice I said remind, not be exactly like!

And neither does optimism without corresponding positive actions. Like doing all the things it takes to win football games!

Absolutely but it still applies. Black personifies this maybe the best out of those three examples because he didn't have the physical attributes of the other two but was still a ball hawk and a sure tackler. He should be the poster boy for this actually.

Not sure if tackling drills are allowed in tackle football practice anymore.

You can have 20 hours of total practice time per week with 12 of those hours involving contact.
"Contact" is defined as tackling to the ground.

I would assume most teams have reduced or cut out the high impact drills (like the Gauntlet and Oklahoma).

Practices are still extremely physical but not like they were 15 years ago.

Unfortunately, tackling drills usually happen after a loss due to poor tackling.

Reggie spent a total of 11 seasons in the NFL.
He did very well at putting money in the bank.

Looked up his contract when he was mentioned and saw only a two year $2.5 million deal. Failed to click career earnings tab.
