We haven’t accumulated this much losses in quite a while. I hope this trend stops soon! We need a sweep! Go Gators!!

Wow, is Cade’s ERA really north of 8 at this point? I’ve been really impressed with his ability to settle in the last two weeks, but giving up a run per inning isn’t going to leave much margin for error going forward.

 

Our team ERA is 5.84, #143 in D1 baseball I think. Caglionone is shining at 1.65, Slater is next best at 3.51 (Satin is at 1.08, but he's only pitched 8.1 innings). Jameson Fisher is at 4.19, Brandon Neely at 4.50, Alex Philpott at 5.91. After them is Blake Purnell at 6.75, Grayson Smith at 7.30, Liam Peterson at 7.66, Fisher at 8.13, Luke McNeillie at 10.29, Frank Menendez at 13.50, Jake Clemente at 15.00, Jacob Gomberg at 18.00 and Hunter Jones at 99.00 (Jones has only faced 2 batters - no outs, 1 HBP, 1 got a double and both scored). Riley Whitmer has pitched 1.1 innings with an ERA of 0.00, so there's that, but this is a work in progress and everybody just hopes these young arms improve with experience, although that's hard to do in the brutal SEC.

 

That's 10 freshmen and only 6 back with any experience, not that anyone is counting.

 

247 is reporting that Neely is moving to Friday night starter and Fisher is going to the pen. I guess Sully was serious about shaking things up. Good for him. Let's see what happens.

 

I like this move. Wonder who will fall into the closer role. Is it dare I say McNellie?

If we keep taking 2 of 3 on the weekend, I'm ok with dropping every weekday the rest of the season.

 

That will put us in a pretty good position at the end of the year. It doesn't give much hope for a deep run though. We'd all like to see some production from the bottom of the order, the ability to string some hits together at the top of the order, and some consistency on the mound.

 

I get it....but man what a roll of the dice for trying to close games. Feels a little desperate, which i guess is the case

 

Definitely a roll of the dice without a bona fide closer in reserve but if your Friday night guy has an ERA north of 8 it’s time to shake things up. Hoping McNeilly can continue to grow and show the stuff he’s shown in his last outings and Fisher responds well to being relegated to the Pen. I’m pretty confident that Neely can give you quality starts.

 

At first glance you would think Slater—but his last 2-3 times out his command/control has been less than what we need in that role.

McNeille has been showing improvement—what y’all say let’s make this Sully’s call……

 

If that should happen we would be in the running to be SEC regular season champs but with a record of about 30-24... might not get us a top 8 seed.

And yes, Luke does have his ERA moving in the right direction....it was 20 a couple of weeks ago
