Even though they have yet to have their convention and officially announce what their platform is (they didn't bother in 2020), based on observation it includes things like: 1. Nationwide abortion ban 2. A ban on contraceptives 3. cutting aid for Ukraine 4. Tax cuts for the top 5. repeal Obamacare 6. Tariffs on imported goods 7. Government shutdowns and the elimination of entire federal departments/laws/regs (education, epa, voting rights act. 8. Marginalized populations back in the closet " where they belong". 9. Pushing as far as they can to put a fundamentalist Christian agenda in place wrt govt policy. 10. school vouchers 11. weaken or kill NATO 12. whatever Trump says on any given day 13. push the narrative that 2020 was stolen 14. blanket immunity for Trump 15. others?
Here is the very influential Heritage foundations ideas for the next GOP cycle as outlined in the outstandingly stupid "Project 2025". Below is an excerpt I randomly pulled from the document that is 920 pages from a section regarding military priorities. Policy | Project 2025 Military Priorities from Project 2025 1. Strengthen protections for chaplains to carry out their ministry according to the tenets of their faith. 2. Codify language to instruct senior military officers (three and four stars) to make certain that they understand their primary duty to be ensuring the readiness of the armed forces, not pursuing a social engineering agenda. This direction should be reinforced during the Senate confirmation process. Orders and direction motivated by purely partisan motives should be identified as threats to readiness. 3. Reinstate service members to active duty who were discharged for not receiving the COVID vaccine, restore their appropriate rank, and provide back pay. 4. Eliminate Marxist indoctrination and divisive critical race theory programs and abolish newly established diversity, equity, and inclusion offices and staff"
Which parts are not true Trumper? How about you tell us what policy positions the GOP should or will put in their platform this year? Something other than undying loyalty to the orange god?
Here is why you can't actually build a platform on the right. They don’t all want the same things they are just aligned around who they dont like. The ultrawealthy individuals funding the movement want the kind of tax policies that benefit them. The New Right intellectuals manning the think tanks want to stick it to their “woke” rivals on campus. The Christian nationalist preachers want power, policies that privilege their religious viewpoints, and access to both public and private sources of money. The agendas of movement leaders are often at odds with those of the rank-and-file supporters, who are often being exploited or consciously manipulated. What really unites them is a fear and loathing of liberals specifically, and the modern world more generally. Try to read descriptions of “the woke” from Christian nationalist leaders or leaders of the New Right and see if you recognize anybody or anything you know. They are united in their stated view that they face a monolithic totalitarian enemy, which includes anyone to the left of them. They really don’t know those who disagree with them politically and appear to have no interest in knowing them. https://www.salon.com/2023/10/10/pr...left-the-building-gops-surrender-to-complete/
Well this is how I see the platform: 1. Jail all non-whites 2. remove the archaic restriction on being President for only 2 terms 3. Add a sickle to the flag. Reduce all media down to just FoxNews 4. Dig a mote and build a 100-foot-tall wall on southern border with snipers positioned a minimum of every 250 feet 5. Make any and all elections from local level to national be run by the federal government. 6. Eliminate all states constitutions, no need the federal government will handles all issues. 7. Require abortions for all nonwhites while making all whites carry to term. Am I on track???
no more lefty than the pubs who prob won't make up 1 anyway & when it comes to "free trade" it will be far to the left of dems
They won't bother with an actual platform, just like in 2020. It's just gonna be 'whatever Trump wants'.
Why do you want tariffs? Seems like the last ones caused more harm than good. Company I worked for paid (and still paying) millions in tariffs for a product that wasn't made in the US.
Yep, then there is the de facto platform, which at some point puts social security and medicare in the crosshairs as they have despised those two programs from the outset.
It's sad the GOP won't have to provide a platfrom and will still probably win the WH in Nov. Got to feel bad to lose that one.
The platform is simple: 1. Use all available funds to pay for 45’s legal fees. The rest will be the same governance cluster we’ve seen the past few years-heavy on the jargon and catch phrases-“repeal and replace”, build a wall”, etc with nary an idea how to actually govern.
