I posted earlier that if the gators couldn’t make it to the final four, I didn’t want to see UConn get there. Don’t want to see them go back to back the fact that we were the last team to go back to back. Who’s the most likely team to take them down? Thoughts?
Tennessee . . . . but only if Knecht returns to being the shooter we saw a few weeks ago (30-35 ppg).
I think Arizona could do it in the Final Four if they get there (but I stupidly picked UNC to get there) and I picked Houston to actually do it in the Championship game. Iowa State could, potentially, do it next game I guess. All it takes is one poor game.
Iowa State has a shot. Arizona could as well. UCONN is good but the best team doesn’t always win (see our Gator team that got beat by UCONN in 2014)
My slight variation on that theme is UCONN not repeating is the ONLY thing left that I really care about with this particular tournament. As you said, it is inevitable. Heard on "Stadium and Gale" the sentiment that the Gators were particularly cursed this season with bad luck - diminishing the fact that they were a good to great team hitting their stride in Feb-Mar. That bad luck will probably continue.
The team with Fronkenshtein in the middle. A true monster. I can't see anybody beating Purdue with the monster in the middle. He seems to be playing his best ball now.
UConn also has a monster in the middle as well as 4 other pros and the best coach in college basketball.
