Asking player that transferred about former team is akin to asking someone’s ex what they think about their ex.
His play in the last Bowl game the Gators played in, pretty much did it for me. Concerning his statements on the lack of development, I've had thoughts all along as well. Too much of what I've seen on Saturdays, speaks directly to coaching. This year is a make or break year for Napier, another year where we see a repeat in product like the last 2 years....I just dont see how Napier recovers from that?
If you consider the LB coach the real DC, we’ve had 4 DC’s in 4 years. Not a recipe for success. 2 of the DCs it was their first P5 DC job. Swimming over their heads. Princely may not have been wrong. The current UF DL state they are being coached harder now.
I've been posting this all offseason: We have a major development issue. Not sure why this is surprising, and why anyone is defensive. We have a top 20 roster as far as "talent", and the product on the field has vastly underachieved. My goodness, we had to bring in a coach to coach the coaches.
Again, I'd rather he not say anything, but most of us here knew the D was bad and coaching suspect. I have no reason to doubt what he said at all given our past two years. Hopefully things have changed.
My coaches told us that whatever we did was to be at full throttle. No halfass stuff. Mistakes at full speed were forgivable. Thumbs up asses and coasting were not. #1 tended to coast on a regular basis causing me to scream at him or the TV, depending on where I was at the time.
Love to hear from all the coaches on this board that think they know it all This kid never took over a game and his missed tackle on 4 and 17 was horrendous Easy to be critical of others to cover your shortcomings GO GATORS
Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. I doubt he makes any NFL roster unless he improves dramatically. Gator Bait!
It would seem that you are agreeing that he needed better coaching. Being upset with the kid's play doesn't mean he is wrong.
Not sure i follow what you mean.I think the truth is usually somewhere in the middle. I think the kid had more issues than the coaching but I can't discount another person's experiences altogether. I remember Shawn Davis made a public comment about what he was being taught in an NFL preseason vs how he was taught here. Diabate made veiled comments about doing what they were asked to do against Lsu when they couldn't stop a counter run. Different coaches but even then, I can't say where the greatest blame lies. That's all. I thought my comments were clear about that.
First of all, trashing coaches that are no longer at Florida accomplishes what exactly? Secondly, since these brats are now professional athletes, they should maybe start to act like pros. When a player gets traded in the pros, he first thanks his old team, then quickly moves on to becoming a new teammate on the next team. But, he doesn't often trash the place he came from, even if he left as a free agent. Unprofessional. Maybe Umaniadopogoplousbogobazinga out to thank his former team for the years of free room, board, tuition, medical care, food, clothing, luxurious living, and benefits instead saying bad things about where he came from. Hope he misses another game-losing 4th-and-17 tackle when we face them this year. GATOR BAIT!!!!!!!!!
“At Florida it was almost like they were just telling me to go use my talent implying they had no game plan. When I dropped back into coverage at Florida they would just tell me go here and the coaches here (at ole Miss) go into detail about what routes are being run” Tells you all you need to know about our football program.
Top 20 roster vs top 4 strength of schedule is a recipe for a bad season. The talent is improving and with the addition of some experienced coaches, we should see improved results.
