Really. This guy has LSU that just lost 2 in a row to Miss at home as the #5 seed in the country and Bama the #7 seed who is 2 & 4 in the SEC.
Gotta mention Jocey’s arm tonight. She nailed that attempted steal by two steps. Nobody runs on Jocey!
Baylee… she nailed it for the walkoff! She knocked over the top of the “Pitching Lab”. I was so happy for her.
What would be even more impressive is to go to Starkville and get a sweep there. It's possible. They're 24-7, 5-4 in the SEC. Their pitching is in the bottom 3rd of the SEC and their fielding is last, but their hitting is #2 behind only Florida. So we have to go out there with the midset of scoring a lot of runs, not leaving so many runners on base and hope our pitchers limit their walks and HBP, making them earn everything they get.
Diamond Sports Rankings (DSR), which some are now saying is the new best ranking system, has the Gators ranked #7 as of this morning. Just because of that I like it better. Diamond Sports Ranking
From D1 Softball.com Week 7 Review: Florida’s new additions keep impressing. Much of the early attention on Florida has been the performances of freshman two-way stars Keagan Rothrock and Ava Brown. Rightfully so. The aces continue to impress and play at a level beyond their years. But they aren’t the only new additions helping the Gators win games. Freshman Mia Williams hit several home runs in the series sweep over Kentucky this weekend, and Jocelyn Erickson has been a spark at the plate and behind the plate. Head coach Tim Walton was very excited about Erickson’s transfer from Oklahoma and she’s showing exactly why. Along with her contributions on offense, the sophomore lefty catcher has thrown out numerous runners trying to steal while being a steady hand to guide the young pitching staff. Florida’s victory over Kentucky on Saturday was its program-record 23rd run-rule win of the season. The combination of youth and experience continues to mesh and the Gators have started off strong in the SEC.
I like it better as well Ocala but I question the validity. How can you rank LSU 3rd in the country after loosing 4 of the last five games played.
I'm not sure how I feel about this....... I really like the new tradition after home wins that the players lineup and engage the crowd with "It's Great to be a Florida Gator" cheer. Even better that now it seems like many in the crowd wait for that before leaving. It's a nice addition before Con te Partirò. But I'm not sure how I feel about that at away games. For example, last week at FGCU we crushed them 9-0 in a run-rule game that was never really a contest. Had to be demoralizing for FGCU to be totally dominated and realize that they are nowhere near our level of play. Is it OK, to then come out and rub it in -- on their field -- that it's Great to be a Florida Gator? There was an NFL game a few years ago where the visiting team celebrated on the home team's logo at the 50 yard line -- then the brawl broke out. I'm not sure this is a classy thing to do on someone else's field and, win or lose, I've always felt like UF has class.
to the victor go the spoils.as a OSU fan it galled me when mayfield planted the oklahoma flag mid field at the horseshoe, but they won.
I don't find it unclassy. It's something the team enjoys and does with the fans. Virtually every team does things like this with big fan bases. I don't enjoy egregious celebrations like you see at OU though.... or bat flips and showboating. There was one a clemson player.. Mckenzie Clark..had last week... homerurn she acted like a mlb player walking down the first base line tossing her bat. Just smug. Have never been a fan of that.
Idk why all the LSU hype jsut cause they're a senior heavy team.... those seniors haven't done squat the last 4 years.
