Don’t know if anyone has posted this, but Doak is getting gutted and ‘the world’s largest erector set’ portion is getting removed.
My only trip to Dope Was 1998 and we lost. The stadium had the feel of an oversized high school stadium to me. The Swamp is the real deal!
A stadium so terrible that a 1/4 of it has been demolished for a complete rebuild is inside the top 8? That’s laughable!
You betcha...and also for them to file their "we belong" protest for being snubbed before getting beat by 702 points by Georgia...oh and youre also paying for them to extract themselves from the ACC deal they freely negotiated and signed a few years ago.
As a Hurricanes fan this isn't close. The Swamp is 1000 times better. FSU is just a high school stadium with brick around it. I look forward to the game this year in Gville(Will be more fun if Miami wins...well for me it will).
One of the highlights of my college years was tearing down there goal post when we beat them there in 82.
The "Doak" is a joke! I was there back in the sixties for the Lane Fenner affair. I was also there when as a heavy favorite half-ass-u was down by around thirty points at halftime. Jack Youngblood laid out one of their best players just before halftime .The half-ass-u players left the field with their guy out and on his back. The trainers had to come back for him. GREAT DAY!
Probably in its initial configuration which likely lasted till the Pell years. Then the wood south end zone was expanded and that was though the bonding process as handled by the University Athletic Association. Ever since, improvements have come through non tax payer dollars.
