Phat - we had the same annual requirement when I served in the active military. Can’t tell you how many guys puked after finishing that annual run. The longer you are in the service, the harder it becomes for some. There was not mandatory exercise or PE after completing your basic and tech training schools. Up to the service member to stay fit. You had to recertify with weapon, go through gas mask training, …but no real mandatory fitness training once at your permanent base. Can’t recall specifically any longer but you had to run a certain distance in the time allotted and thought they gave you a little more time as you got older
This would be a VERY needed and nice pick up. I expect this to happen. Any worried about numbers don’t worry and we will be just fine.
Or was it too late for him to enroll at another school? Will he go through spring training and then enter the portal again?
Could still go in April 15 - 30 or as a grad transfer. Happy to have him back as an excellent special teams player
Some will look at this is not a major move… I would disagree, and say this is awesome as this young man can do several things, and provide major depth.
Experienced depth is important. It's not like we were going to find a replacement in the portal at this point. Having the spring with RR would be important for sorting things out at LB in fall camp.
For sure!! I actually think this kid would start ( if healthy) over Thornton, but at the very least he’s going to provide depth like you said.
oh, yeah, I agree with you. I was talking about the safety from Washington Asa Turner. I think he would be an excellent pick up and could start over Thorton. Started 28 times for Washington and possesses some really solid size
Well, this is an interesting one. He won't show up in the numbers as an incoming transfer or a signee. But, he's still a plus-up to team numbers and experience level.
Any reports on how the Asa Turner visit went? I'm guessing no commitment and classes have begun that this option has passed. Any information on his recruitment would be greatly appreciated.
