Both teams just scraped out competitive doubles points.....singles about to start Men got moved indoors AGAIN, meaning the pathetic UF coverage will only be when someone decides to post on twitter. The deciding doubles match was a tiebreak at #1 that UF took.
Funny, both opponents today are ranked 51st Translation, you can't lose these matches Women up on 3 courts and down on 3 in first sets. Men, who the hell knows with this coverage
Rowinska and Lopez are blasting their opponents at 5 and 6....into their second sets Other courst are tight mid first sets
Men....first 3 courts underway. UF up 3-1, 2-2,4-3 Gailis wins 5 staright to take her first set Dahlstrom beaten badly in her first Briggs takes her first set Dudeney down 4-5 Lopez 1-0 in her second Rowinska looks like she will post a double bagel, up 6-0 4-0
Women take care of business, win all second sets. Good W Nate wins on court 3 to put men up 2-0, UF takes first set on courts 1 and 2
The guys played extremely hard this evening. Jeremy Jin was fantastic, and his parents were in the indoor arena sitting next to me. They are from Australia, and this was their first exposure to American collegiate tennis. Jeremy won in three sets and continues to improve match by match. Aidan Kim played with a determination that produced a straight sets win. I told Nate Bonetto that I thought he played his best match in he past two years this evening. Yes, we are shorthanded but as they say, "next man up", and this evening that is exactly what transpired.
Nate has been much better this season...glad he seems to have found his game. Last year looked very frustrating at times. Some of these lumps will pay off next year....just have to battle thru it
