Despite this day and the way the season ended, I enjoyed watching this team grow. Never thought in this day and age of one year players roster turnover etc., I would become so attached to a team. Super bummed that Zion and Walter are seniors. On to next season. I like our future under Golden as he gets older and learns.
The future can be bright. Just got to figure out a way to get the team to play better defense. If every game is a shootout, you’re going to lose your percentage of those games. Proud of a better O this year, but GOT to develop the D !
This year was special for me. A lot of firsts. Started off the season by meeting and chopping it up with Coach Todd Golden. Ended up traveling to New York City to watch them play two games at Barclay’s. Then saw them in person at the Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, FL and got to meet Taurean Green and shake hands with Micah, Tyrese, and Riley as well as being around all the other guys. I have never had this much access to a team and it really made me feel like I knew them a little bit. Will definitely try to continue that in the future.
Nice work, Gators. Will miss this team. Let's all pull for Clayton to stay around and lead UF to glory next season.
It's over and done too soon but it was a fun ride. Bummed tonight, but tomorr Billy Donovan's early teams had a string of 5 or 6 years in which they couldn't play defense, but were a lot of fun to watch. Defense was just not Billy's forte. So he swallowed his pride, and went out and hired Larry Shyatt, a former head coach with a reputation for defense. Then we won two national titles and reached a bunch of Elite 8s. CTG may want to think about a hire like that.
