The game started so promising, as well. These teams could of scored roughly the same score if the officials didn't get in the way. That to me is what we were robbed of, just let them play and stay out of the way.
Did the calls get better after we gave them 2 points (their winning margin)? Hard to argue that 2 points make no difference when we lost by 2. Agreed the main issue was a lack of defense.
Still proud of this team. Even having Micah's 5 fouls would have made a difference between winning and losing.
With 33 points, Clayton moves to #5 in single season scoring in Florida history. He also stands alone in the number of 20-point+ games scored with 15 since 1996-97.
Hey a little bit of a bright spot. Yale came back to beat Auburn. The cheating thugs got their due. One bright spot that I’ve seen today. Hope Bruce Pearl is crying into his pillow tonight.
That’s why you tank the conference tournament unless you absolutely need wins. But college basketball is a flawed sport anyways. Decided by free throws on phantom calls. Always has been.
If it had been reversed (we pushed off to get the winning basket) the refs would have not counted the basket and given FT to co
I'm glad you said that, because when you do that and win, nobody cares. When you lose, you get people whining about it for years.
I think he would of held up better and played more minutes today. This was a game he would have been a force. That had a guy that just wanted to stay down low and bang, Micah wouldn't have had to chase. Condon played fine, he was hesitant early and I think the foul situation was being preached to him all week. He had a stretch where he held his own against an older bigger guy, it will be a learning experience for him.
Yeah, I got a handed to Clayton. When everything looked extremely bleak, Clayton took the team on his back, and Darned near brought it back to our side. All hail Clayton. Lotta heart in that kid.
Lazy fouls? Only fouls in the mind of a 3rd party. Do you actually think all the officials are on the up-and-up and NEVER gamble on games?
Right trajectory for Golden. But definitely need the ability to ramp up defense when a run and gun isn't working out and when tough shots are being made. Love he had his guys ready to fight to the final whistle. Easily could have lost by 20.
