Did you guys watch the UK game? That’s the most threes against a team that I have seen in a long time! It’s amazing they only lost by 4!
I root for Florida over everybody but root for SEC teams to beat everybody but us. It makes us look better. FSU and Miami I want to lose every game.
Perfectly happy with UK losing But stronger conference perception does help with seeding. This is true in football and basketball. But one bad tournament day won’t make a reputation.
I get hating our rivals and such, but if SEC flames out like this, gonna cost the conference bids next time and rightfully so. The conference was simply overrated. That is not good for Florida. I hope this also isn't a sign of what is to come from Florida's performance in the tourney.
Not really. I read several articles before the tourney that said those 2 would be guaranteed losses. Kentucky was the shocker. Those same articles also said we would lose in the 1st round.
It appears that way... but it's just 3 losses as of now. If Auburn, Bama, A&M and the Gators all win today, things will at least look a little bit different...
It certainly does open up a path in the South Region. Kentucky has the most roster talent in the early part of their bracket and when they're on, they're hard to beat. But we have a tough road to reach the Sweet 16 first.
i generally agree with this, though o think annual turnover has likely changed mindsets I think each season is now evaluated in a vacuum.

Not directed at me, but I'll answer. I mostly root for SEC teams in b-ball as many of our posters have said. Tourney bids are about perception and the stronger the SEC is, the better we look. But also I don't HATE these teams- I certainly like them better than Oregon or Michigan St. or Kansas. About football... If an SEC team (like Tenn or Ole Miss or Auburn) makes the playoffs (lol) then I'll root for them. I like them better than Michigan.. But UGA/ Bama no no no no. Just sick of them. Plus georgia...
Similar here. Can't pull for uga in anything, but I generally pull for the SEC in any other OOC matchups. Of course, that's with my logical brain. Emotionally, I love to see bama, LSU, and Tennessee lose just about anytime. But it's better for UF to have a strong SEC. As @akaGatorhoops said, we're heading toward a time when it'll no longer matter. Once there's only 2 "conferences," nobody will care and it'll be like the NFL or NBA. Personally, I'm not looking forward to that.
I want ALL SEC teams to lose unless it directly affects the Gators in some way. That pro sec crap is over for me.
