(WBK) UF vs St John's University March 21, 2024 7PM

FT's have nothing to do with this beatdown.

 

How much is effort ? How much is coaching ? right now ? Have not seen the 1st 2 quarters, but I heard refs been overly generous with St John with free throws.

 

St.John's had 3 more made FT than the Gators who lost by 19.

 

In your opinion, what was the main/obvious issue this game ?

 

who said anything about the refs tonight? Our girls were not hustling, St johns were not called for many fouls for the first half and we didnt shoot a FT till the 4th quarter but that is not why we lost. We lost because lack of effort. They out hustled us and we played soft, very soft on defense. Like I said Reynolds and Matharu looked like the only ones who wanted to play. The rest were already checked out. First time I have been disappointed in effort n any game that Kelly Rae has coached. 1 time in 3 years I will take that.

 

I'm a big KRF fan.....but for me this is far from the first time I have been concerned with game prep and game performance. I'm not sure where the disconnect is occurring, but this team doesn't play to their potential far too often (would acknowledge injuries have been a factor).

 

We went. I didn’t really feel like they lacked effort, we just couldn’t get anything to fall, while everything they threw up went in. Just one of them nights. They hit some shots that were really well defended, and we had a bunch of good looks that went halfway down and then popped back out. It was that way in warmups too. They hit everything, we hit nothing. I’m sure there’s someone to blame, but I couldn’t find them.

 

We definitely seem to underperform compared to our talent level on too many occasions. Hoping Kelly sees this and makes some roster and staff changes.

You mentioned refs, I don't think I did.

 

I agree as far as the effort, I can't recall the last time I seen an game from them where it seem like effort was lacking.
