I honestly don’t remember as I didn’t lead point on shutting it down but I don’t think so. We didn’t have much money tied up in country (didn’t keep a lot in banks there and only leased real estate) and we were very quick to act once the sanctions hit.

Like I suggested, who cares? If 200 representatives vote a certain way, then it’s important to understand why, even if the measure passes. If only nine do, then it’s beneath comment.
I agree that the "why" doesn't matter, but I think it's important to out these people and have them held up to (near) universal condemnation. MTG is NOT getting a pass from me simply because she's being Marjorie. She can go to hell first and leave the lights on.
I was not suggesting a pass for MTG. I’ve been clear myself on my professional, apolitical assessment of her character and performance. As I’ve previously stated, a serving member of the armed forces, such as myself, may not engage in openly contemptuous language toward members of Congress. So you will never see me write things like — strictly as an example — “MTG should be handed over to the Russian Army as a comfort woman for the duration of the war.” I was merely asserting the larger story is that overwhelming, bipartisan majority condemned Russian war atrocities in the form of kidnapping Ukrainian children and reeducating them as Russians. Why did those nine vote against it? No idea. Don’t really care. Some might be idiots. Some might be Russian agents. All are certainly placing party above country, which I find reprehensible. Some, more reasonably, might have a problem with the word “genocide” in there. I have a problem with that myself only because I think the word gets thrown around too loosely to the point that it has no meaning anymore. But my problem with the language does not override my support for the resolution overall. In fairness, I said the same thing about Tlaib (another mental peer of MTG, just on the other side of the aisle) when she refused to condemn Hamas for its ordered use of rape as a tool of war. Reprehensible. And I don’t care what her political justification is. An unprofessional officer (not myself, of course) might suggest she gets to spend the rest of the war in the loving hands of Hamas in one of their tunnels while MTG is enjoying her time with the Russians. But, again, I think the larger point was that the Congress, in an overwhelming and bipartisan way, condemned Hamas for its orders to rape as many women as possible during its attack on Israel.
I suspect that some at least are coming from South Korea, which has a reason to try to keep it quiet (don't want Fat Bast@rd to think that S. Korea is defenseless).

A recap of U.S. - Russian naval incidents over the last 50 years: something we should get used to happening more often, thanks to the Cowards of Congress (Trump republicans). Once we help Russia's military succeed in Ukraine and rebuild itself to superpower status, we'll have a lot more of these incidents and accidents, and we'll have to pay more taxes to rebuild our military. Trump republicans love them taxes. (Either that, or they are just too stupid to understand that not helping Ukraine will lead to higher U.S. military spending in the future.) I don't remember hearing about any of these incidents, other than the U.S. ships hitting the cargo ship. A Soviet attack submarine crashed into a US aircraft carrier 40 years ago during the Cold War. It was a bad day for the sub.

As I said from the beginning of the war, the longer the war goes on the more territory Ukraine will lose. Putin and Zelensky were getting close to signing l a ceasefire agreement as I reported on March 23, 2022 on my twitter. I predicted Biden would be opposed and I was right. The Biden administration wanted war Russia now has 4 oblasts under their control. People who think like chemgstor will cause Russia to capture Kyiv oblast and Odessa oblast and the 2 oblasts in-between. And things could get even worse.
Maybe the more the war continues, the more territory that Russia will lose. Russian partisans are invading Russia from Ukraine and causing a lot of trouble. One thing that has to keep Putin awake at night: if the regular army soldiers get tired of being ordered to fight Ukraine, there is another organization they can join to fight Russia and get rid of Putin. It will be interesting to see where this activity goes. Russia has had little success controlling these rebels, who are getting weapons and equipment from Ukraine. Putin cannot afford for these courageous and heroic rebels to become any more popular than they already are. Looks like Russia is getting a good dose of its own medicine.
