Illegal entry is not an enforceable state crime in any state. It is a federal crime.

That will be an upcoming issue to address after the election. How do these people get legitimate jobs without a SS number? How does that work?

They can apply for those as well, although they will be restricted (only authorized for work with other documentation).

So, now we know that illegals should never be allowed to claim asylum. They should be considered law breakers and that should be reason enough for not allowing "other documentation" from changing their status.

That is not how the law works. Again, a person is allowed to apply for asylum regardless of how they entered.

I'd like to prosecute all these elderly people who keep "illegally entering" Florida to retire.

If 87 hard working migrants can do the work of 1000s of Americans, then I think the company is making the right choice. Should keep the cost of bacon down...

Immigrants, undocumented or not, don't get SS numbers. They get Individual Tax ID Numbers (ITIN). Anyone can apply. Every year, millions of people file tax returns with an ITIN, including many undocumented immigrants.

As for states having the power to enforce immigration law, if the Constitution is followed, that will not be allowed. The Constitution is explicit in stating the Feds have sole authority to enforce borders and citizenship issues.

You think politicians are scum, try putting a con-artist businessman in charge of the country, and you'll see what scum truly is.

We’ve done that and he’s no worse worse that most of the others. The others just got into politics earlier and learned how to keep their mouths shut

Well, now illegals are allowed to constitutionally carry. Hmmm

Why am I not surprised? This is entire thread is based on a false narrative perhaps not all that surprising considering the source was a linked Fox News article quoting a MAGA politician (JD Vance) and drawing the inference that Tyson Foods would hire 52,000 migrants because it recently hired a much smaller number (87 migrants) and indicated that it may hire more if they applied for positions. By the way contrary to the title of this thread a large percentage of the workers laid off in Iowa were probably also immigrants. The meatpacking industry has employed immigrants both legal and illegal for decades.

I would also add that the plant that's being closed in Iowa is a pork processing plant, the plant that's being expanded in Humboldt, Tennessee is a poultry processing plant. The new hires whether they're migrants or US citizens are not replacing the employees who lost they're jobs as the result of the plant closure as Fox and J.D. Vance are strongly implying.
