When the results of the first study did not corroborate with his personal thinking, he did a second study. It backed up the first studies results. Afterwards, Harvard officials tried to shut him down, Claudine Gay led their efforts. Roland Fryer grew up in Daytona and is quite a story in itself.
Women working under Roland Fryer at Harvard made allegations of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment. Harvard punished Fryer for that, not because he made some findings in a study. Multiple leading scholars have pointed to methodological flaws in Fryer's study, and subsequent studies have made findings that undercut some aspects of Fryer's findings. Of course, Fryer's study still found that police were more likely to use non-lethal force against Black people than white people, so I'm not sure how it proved an "anti-white double standard."
I think Fryer grew up in Texas, but it does seem like he was born in Daytona, which I didn’t realize. Neat. Anyway, Fryer is a smart dude and seems to really care. I don’t know anything about the misbehavior / conspiracy about his silencing, but I think he’s a good academic. Like all of us, he’s not necessarily right about everything he believes, but his work shouldn’t be discounted out of hand.
Thanks. I’m sure there have been multiple studies on that subject. To single one out and claim that it alone is is the undeniable proof, especially when it’s based on a YouTube video, may not be the best way to analyze an issue.
Great advice to shut someone down who cites a source you obviously disagree with. It was a black Harvard prof who said he thought he’d set out to do the easiest research ever…show data that police were indeed inherently racist and were murdering blacks. His own research proved himself dead wrong. Maybe look into the research before telling others their sources aren’t credible or mainstream enough.
The OP didnt look into the research, he literally just watched a video made by someone else who also didnt look into the research
