If we let these illegals get jobs here it incentivizes illegal entry into the U.S.A.. The RINO's are in lock step with the Dems on that issue.

What shift would you like for picking strawberries in July in Plant City? I'll put you down for noon-5PM.

There are more employed illegal immigrants in the US (estimated around 9 million) than there are unemployed Americans.

Ending employment of illegals is a simple economic/numbers issue, never mind the practical challenges of filling those jobs with Americans.

If they want to kick out 9 million employees, Trumppublican hate-mongerers need to present their plan to keep this amazing Biden economy humming, employment-wise. Absent an actual plan, we should expect the irrational immigration buffoonery kept inside their heads.

The Pubs want cheap labor. The Dems want votes. Been that way a long time. To borrow from Led Zeppelin: “The Song Remains the Same”.

Companies get cheap labor, Dems get votes, we subsidize it all through our tax dollars at the federal and state level. They’ve had us bent over so long that the pain has become normal to all of us.

They probably found some 14 year olds to replace the 16 year olds that were getting too old for their labor practices

You're aware that illegal immigrants don't vote?

So you're in effect saying that the original post in this thread is very misleading?

If you're actually serious please provide a credible link supporting that statement. It seems to a very common narrative of the willfully ignorant right but so far I do not recall reading anything supporting the narrative that Democrats want to allow illegals to vote.

    Clever.

More accurately, though - Trumppublicans have never truly done anythingto establish a long-term fix for illegal immigration. The largest thing they've ever done, actually, is when Reagan granted amnesty to appx 2.5 million undocumented immigrants.

Now, of course, they have Trump to incite them with his hateful lies. But he never did anything either.

Don't you feel manipulated? It sure seems easy to manipulate Trumppublican voters by inciting their animosity towards others.

Here are some numbers to chew on. Currently about 6.7 million people on unemployment. Currently about 8.9 million open jobs. There are about 160.1 million people working in the US with about 4.6% of them undocumented, which works out to be over 7.5 million. Last, 80% of people on unemployment finds a new job within 3 months of being laid off.

So, three months from now, 5,360,000 of the current unemployed will be gainfully employed again, and replaced by new, unfortunate people who lost their jobs. And there would still be 3.5 million plus jobs open and unfilled, even if there wasn't a single new position created in the next three months!

Does anyone think there are enough people currently on unemployment who would want a meat packing job in Iowa or Tennessee to fill these positions? Anyone think adding 7.5 million more jobs by deporting all undocumented immigrants is a good idea given the other numbers? Anyone ever take a high school level econ course and can tell us what happens to prices when supply drops a lot faster than demand, which would guaranteed to happen if we deported millions of working immigrants? Here's a good study of Arizona, which passed SB 1070 in 2010, and caused hundreds of millions in lost GDP, and higher prices for the state. Throw in the hundreds of million it would cost to deport the migrants, and who, in their right mind, thinks the government spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to reduce GDP and cause inflation is a good idea? The answer? Those who believe in the great replacement and put racist ideas above all.

I agree with you. As I said, the pubs like the status quo, and the Dems like the status quo.

Both sides have been pissing on us for decades and then telling us it’s rain.

I don’t think that anyone dreams of working in a pork factory. I doubt if few even dream of being the GM of one. But that is really immaterial.

The reality is that working in a pork factory is unfortunately, the best available option for many people, particularly as a short term or stop-gap measure.

Personally I would be fine paying more for products that are produced with legal labor in an ethically managed company but there’s no real way to know for sure. Just as with Chinese products, we try to avoid them as much as possible, even if we have to pay more.
