I would minimize minimize making fun of Vandy until our team gets substantially better..we didn’t just get beat at Vandy with AR we got our pants pulled down and got bare ass spanked there.

It’s almost certainly to lose by more than the spread. It’s a lot less questionable to get a crappy team to do something stupid to lose by more than to ask an elite team to start sandbagging in the 4th quarter.

Maybe the mob was offering money for Vandy to win. Now that would be unexpected. :D

Vandy would be more motivated by a free protractor or HP calculator.

Grantham never made it to 4th down..the first down was already surrendered on 3rd and Grantham.

It would also need to be offered to Vandy's opponents, not Vandy.

Read a more detailed article - claims wasn’t asked to change spreads / win/ lose but more player prop type bets. Like hey, make sure #81 catches a TD pass.

I would not publicly discuss these items in the press. Back in the day, this former SEC QB would disappear or suffer a violent death if discussing such matters.

Baloney. A seldom used vandy qb is approached? Really, he would likely have 0 influence on the game. Let me see, I'll go to the second string LG for McNeese St and give him $100k to fix the game vs Uga...as in beat the spread. Huh?

This guy is looking for some social media income or a tv show or book deal.

And who is this "Italian Mob"??? Gambino dead. Gotti dead. Lucchese dead. Luciano dead. Trafficante dead. Decidue dead.

I was thinking the same thing. It would have been more believable if Stetson Bennett came out and said it.

Another possibility is some drunk guy was messing with him at a bar and he believed it was real. lol

I was more laughing at just the idea of Italian mobster hanging out at any of the honky tonk bars in Nashville
