Odds are the shooters are felons already and still carry guns. A gathering of 250-400 teens and early 20's. 1 dead, 3 hurt in 3 separate shootings in downtown Jacksonville Beach during busy St. Patrick’s Day
Pretty awesome that the NRA and gun lobby make it easy for criminals to get guns though, right? 18 year-olds who can't legally drink? You can go get yourself an AR-15!! We trust you to be really really responsible with it! 18 year-olds aren't likely to misuse a gun, sell it, or be irresponsible so that criminals can easily get ahold of it. Nah....
I thought this was interesting phrasing from the news4Jax article posted above. Not only were people fighting but others out there practicing the sweet science and having boxing matches. He said around 8 p.m. the officers had to break up the crowd when they began to engage in fights and boxing matches.
I’d be willing to bet any of these punks carrying guns didn’t go through a legal means to do so. I’m including the idiot who was brandishing a gun in NSB last week and when finally caught had loads of pot with him. He just felt he needed to be able to protect his “medicine”… :rolls eyes:
I'd be inclined to agree with you. My point is that the people you help elect make it easier for criminals like these to get guns. We know this perfectly well to be true by now. If you disagree, why are people considered too young/irresponsible to consume a beer considered responsible enough to buy an AR-15? Or firearms in general. That's the tiniest fix to gun laws that will take a small step toward keeping some guns away from criminals. But people like you cast votes to make sure that doesn't happen. The people you elect are helping keep the criminals armed.
Can't tell what point you're trying to make. Seems like no point at all..... ....in Texas.... Salvador Ramos purchased AR-15-style rifles and ammunition from federally licensed firearms dealers just days after he turned 18. On May 24, he used those weapons to kill 19 students and two teachers at Uvalde’s Robb Elementary School. Mass shooters younger than 21 used AR-15-style rifles for attacks in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012; Parkland, Florida, in 2018; and Buffalo, New York, in May 2022. Why is it easier for 18-year-olds to buy AR-15s than handguns?
So... no wet T-shirt contests and beer drinking games? I don't think that crowd knows how to have fun.
So u meant to say that federal law makes it possible for 18 year olds to legally buy rifles, just not handguns? My bad.
What I think would help is open carry in all government buildings and outlawing metal detectors for government buildings. I don’t think anything will help but at least that levels the risk for policy makers.
You don't vote for Republicans? Is this faux outrage your mechanism to deny to yourself that you are helping criminals become or stay armed?
