Always have...it's the NCAA middle finger to the SEC for not "moving it" to Saturday like every other league
I think we got screwed in the sense it’s like we got ZERO credit for the tourney wins. UT didnt get dropped for getting blown out. We were basically a 7 seed coming in. That Alabama is a whole 3 seeds better than us after all that is madness. But at the end of the day it doesn’t matter much. Not much difference between a 5 and 7, and I think 5 was our ceiling. Plus the extra day rest I think is more important. So it isn’t all bad.
It’s was that insolent @gatordavisl who issued the optimistic… a commoner who should know better since our grace has already suffered one recent offense from him. This is the second time I am forced to issue a royal declaration of “my bad” today and we are not pleased with this.
Then why even play the conference tournament if it does not help seeding for the BIG Tournament? All you do is injury to your players as we saw today.
they've been under-ranking us all season - why stop now who cares, just win. then they'll look like idiots.
Agreed. My biggest concern is our front line going from 20 available fouls to 15. That could bite us. And, I like when our bigs feel free to challenge every shot. None of our guys seem the type to worry about that, but they might need to be a little more careful about avoiding needless fouls.
oh come on. at one time it looked like we weren't going to make the dance. Lets be happy we are in it.
more than winning 3 straight in the SECT and reaching the finals? that was some loss (by 1 point at one of the most notoriously difficult venues in the NCAA)
I'm happy but have been starved for so long I get greedy. You're right though, we should appreciate this season. It's been a long time since I expect our guys to gut it out every game but I'm to the point where I expect it and that's a great thing.
I think the reason it’s on Sunday is purely a TV reason as we are locked into ESPN Sunday at 1. Sad, but true.
Aint I don't think its budging either with the ACC and B12 titles on Saturday, at least if ESPN has any say in it. SEC is currently filling the "championship Sunday" afternoon marquee matchup void.
Agreed on the low seed, however its a pretty good set of potential matchups as far as 7 seeds go. Especially Marquette. I basically pencil them in as an early upset every time they're a high seed. (And have for like 15 years since Buzz Williams was there) And will continue to do so until they prove they can do anything past the S16 Hell last time UF was a 7 seed in 2012 they beat Marquette OTW to the E8
