Lets be clear what you are talking about here. A woman came forward and accused Trump of rape. The jury agreed with the woman on some level that Trump was guilty of battery. That is not necessarily the same thing as rape, although it certainly is not good. And this was a civil trial that had a much lower standard of evidence than a criminal trial. The number of Me Too feminists on the jury may have very well determined the outcome of that civil trial. This is after Trump became a high profile politician and won the presidency. The timing of such accusations is very suspect. The same thing happened to Kavannah prior to his appointment to the SCOTUS. I don't suspect that this will be the last instance a high profile conservative being accused of a crime leading up to an election campaign. In fact it appears to be the new normal now.
……and large percentages of Americans didn’t think OJ was a murderer. And unlike trump, OJ was found “not guilty”. Maga has to follow & defend a rapist.
Back to the OP; at the end Pence went against trump. He did the right thing and stood up to extensive pressure and maga death threats. Trump would have happily sent this country into chaos. We owe Pence a lot of gratitude for that.
Trumpeteers will seize any excuse to support what they know in their heart is wrong. Good people who live moral lives will excuse every disgusting, outrageous, inexcusable, immoral episode from that man,and dig down to the innards of their soul to find a reason to say,”It’s ok.”
Was Trump convicted of rape in a criminal court of law? He just like Bill Clinton never faced those charges to my knowledge.
But Clinton wasn't accused of sexual assault by at least 25 women, nor adjudicated to have committed sexual assault in a civil court. Nor did Clinton admit to such on tape. You support the sexual assault king. Congrats, or something.
Where did I say I support Trump? Your reading comprehension is a bit off. Your connected the dots is off as well.
Trump was found liable for sexual abuse which the judge characterized as rape in civil court. OJ Simpson was found liable for the murders in civil court. Trump is just as much a rapist as OJ is a murderer. Your grammar is a bit off.
l judge comments in trumps rape case. After a jury made a decision after reviewing evidence “The jury’s finding of sexual abuse therefore necessarily implies that it found that Mr. Trump forcibly penetrated her vagina,”
Of course he did! Remember: "They let you do it when you are a star!". Sounds like a questionable legal standpoint in hindsight, unless of course you are a billionaire, which according to what his lawyers indicated today, he is not.
I wouldn't know, I don't watch TV. Of course I HEAR the TV, which my Republican MIL listens to in the next room, but the only thing I "hear" these days is MAGA political ads where men are using women's bathrooms and who supported Trump first. I have yet to hear an issue that women REALLY give a shit about, like MAYBE overturning Roe vs. Wade wasn't a great idea for people who obviously care more about running on issues like imaginary pedophiles and the number of men (flushing toilets multiple times according to Trump) in women's public bathrooms than what people actually care about - which is ACTUAL sexual assault and pedophilia from people like Donald Trump, who will GLADLY enter a woman's dressing room, bathroom, safe room if he feels like he can get away with it. So it sounds particularly hypocritical and therefore, doesn't sound like a winning strategy to me. But I don't "watch" TV, so how would I know?
You probably don't have any women in your life, but if you do please casually mention around them that what Trump did was no big deal because he penetrated E. Jean Carroll with his fingers and not his penis against her will. You are also laying down a marker that being adjudicated a "sexual assaulter" in a civil court isn't disqualifying for public office and you have to be convicted in criminal court instead. That sounds very Christian of you. Regarding Kavanaugh, it was quite odd that there was such a focus in his confirmation in getting him positive recommendations from women in a way you don't see with other justices. Maybe it's because the FBI tip line was getting hundreds of complaints about him from women which the Trump White House squelched.
Don't forget he was a rich dude who bragged about how much unprotected sex he was having in the 80s. I put the odds of him not paying to have women abort HIS babies at 1 in 1000.
And since we are purely speculating, I would certainly not be shocked if he paid for an abortion or two for his sons’ dalliances …
Thanks for being reasonable and not toeing the company line here. You are of course 100% correct and those bashing Pence for this are just playing partisan games. What he is doing is unprecedented when you think about it.
