Losing is one thing. Losing a piece of the team like we did in the fashion that it happened is demoralizing. Here’s to hoping we get a Friday game so the guys can physically regroup and maybe play inspired for MH and make a miraculous run. Go Gators!

Yeah man, I think all of us with any type of heart are feeling the same way. I wanted to win today, but the outcome was really not as important to me after Micah went down. I just couldn't really get into the game, so I could only imagine how the players and coaches felt.

Yes, tough loss today w Handlogten going down and losing the game.
But damn, this game was a freakin battle, just didn't have enough in the tank. Gotta regroup emotionally and physically for an NCAA run.

Gators made a great run at them early in the second half but just did not have enough in the tank to finish. That is okay, get some rest and get ready for the NCAA tournament. Prayers for Handlogten.

It's awful to see Micah lost. Horrible injury.
Golden had tears in his eyes after he checked on the big guy.

Yeh, no team is going to be the same seeing an injury like that to one of their teammates. And it especially hurts when it’s a guy that is a major part of the team. I absolutely feel sick for him and couldn’t care less about the loss right now.

Super buzz kill. Humming along, winning three in the SECt and then a horrific injury + Kugel not playing at all the last two games. What was a really exciting time suddenly became a downer. Instead of "YES! On to the dance!" it's now "Oh well, on to the dance."

So sad, especially because I broke my leg in HS as well. Yep, I was that guy back in the 90s BEFORE Paul George...BEFORE Ware of Louisville. It happened to me and trust me, the entire game STOPPED and I was rushed to the hospital ans straight to surgery to save my leg. I'm ok now but man, everytime I see it...it brings back painful (literally) memories.

Glad you’re doing well. What has it been like for you since the injury?

Exactly. It rattles the team, they’re thinking of their teammate while trying to stay in the game. You can’t be two places at once.

Lol..welp my NBA hopes were dashed (I was nowhere near that good or tall enough but hey I was kid so I had hope at the time). I didn't rehab it hard enough right after I was cleared to do so. I can run, jump, play basketball with no problem but even to this day my left leg (the injured leg) never fully recovered back to 100% because I didn't rehab it hard enough. I still regret that to this day

Two Funny stories though came from it....

    1. I'm right handed but injured my left leg. Well, that allowed me to develop my left hand. Why? Because I'd I was driving to the basket I started jumping off my right leg (non injured leg) more. It confused a lot of people because I would shoot jump shots right handed but drive to the basket left handed. Lol

    2. Because I have a titanium rod in my leg, most of the time It doesn't buzz in airports etc. However, I went on a cruise one time and boarding the ship I was fine. However, we stopped in Beliz and to get back on the ship for whatever reason the medal detector kept buzzing. My wife started cracking up because I literally took everything out of my pockets and my belt was off. They finally let me back on the ship after they realize the next step was to take my clothes off. Lol.

    Thanks for asking

Early in my basketball development it was impressed on me to develop the off hand. I spent so much time doing that as a right handed player that I was way better going left than driving right.

Generally speaking, it’s said that high ankle sprains take more time to recover from than broken ankles. However, the announcers were saying that Micah was bleeding down there. That would indicate a compound fracture. Not good.

    Really really sucks.

As a fan, the game changed emotionally similar to KJ’s, and was more just hoping he was ok and we’d stay in it.

I feel numb. I can't imagine the emotions in and around the team. I'm just glad he has great teammates and staff that will be there for him and each other. As well as the best medical care and recovery support.

I doubt that the players games were affected by the injury, but we needed Micah’s big body out there. The freshmen were not strong enough to stop the Auburn bigs.

I couldn’t disagree with you more. The injury definitely affected the rest of the players’ abilities to play and the coaches’ abilities to coach.
