She was a very valued recruit coming in but I thought she was consistently underrated by the services. She has everything you want.
Stating the obvious....Katie is as locked in as any hitter in quite some time. There's something special about a lefty's swing when they are destroying the ball and Katie is doing just that. It is a thing of beauty.
I told y'all during Fall Ball that she was a player. She was head and shoulders over Kaila and Hovermale. (I was glad to see Lou get an at-bat last night and capitalize on it. Ariel is a solid catcher, also. I believe she is the reason Kaila left. Once she saw how AK played consistently, she began to fade. You could see she was not giving total effort and botched a lot of ground balls. AK also has a gun at 3B, which Kaila did not.
Remember Stephanie Toft when she was locked in? Weird swing even for a lefty but when she was hot watch out! I’m so happy for Katie right now and the awesome campaign she’s having.
Shout out to Jocelyn behind the dish. Throwing out 9 of 10 attempted steals! These ladies are fast and it’s only 60ft between bases. 90% blowing my mind.
As someone said previously Indiana is a quality team, receiving some top 25 votes I think. This was a good RPI win. Let’s get another tomorrow morning!
Katie had a day. She was one hit away from the cycle. She hit the ball hard all day. Plus she played great day in the field. Impressive show “KK”!
It would be fantastic if she got SEC Player of the week......Also, for you Diamond Gators that attend games; please don't give Julia Cottrill a warm welcome when she returns to Gainesville in early May. Make sure she understands we love our current catcher and think she is the best catcher in the country. I can understand one transfer but two is ridiculous.
Julia was and is definetley good but Jocey is 100% better. Give her a thank you for leaving us in the dust.... probably wouldn't have gotten jocey.
Hartley, the young girl with cancer the team adopted several years ago, was at yesterday's game all grown up and apparently cancer-free:
Julia had some very serious personal issues going on during the time she left. I think she felt the need to be closer to home (Oklahoma). She seems to have found the perfect fit with A&M and is thriving. Instead of giving Julia the cold shoulder, be happy for this young lady.
The fans should be very nice to Julia. If you recall, her RBIs put us in the loser’s bracket at the World Series. Karma’s a bitch!
Korbe continues to hit early and gets the Gators on the board early, that sets the table for Jocey, Katie, Reagan, AK, and Ava to do their thing. Of course, Kendra and Skylar continue to set the table for them all. Our offense runs deep and is getting better each game.
Bama beat Georgia today 5-4. Kentucky comes to town next weekend after we take a midweek trip to Ft. Myers to play Florida Gulf Coast. KY right now is 19-7, 0-3 in the SEC, getting swept by LSU last weekend. FGCU is 20-10, having slipt series with FSU & USF so far. A pretty good team.
Maybe I'm reading this wrong but why would you make the comment about karma? I don't think anyone did her wrong in her time with us.
