UF has seemingly addressed every comparative deficiency in terms of facilities, staff, and now budget. Rather than focus on one sports program and let others flounder like some schools, UF invests in all programs. This is evidenced by men’s national championships in football, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, swimming and track and field. UF also invests heavily in academics. We just need a little momentum and good fortune to translate to a winning record to change the recruiting narrative and perception. Tough with the schedule we play but other programs like Mizzou and Ole Miss have done so. Go gators!

Miles is not considered an on field coach so odd to include him. Since it does….the list does exclude Hocke who remains on staff making 750k- doing what I am not sure. (Probably cost the same to fire him vs paying his contract to remain around and do something until his contract expires but I wonder if his $ is counted in the coaches salary still- that is a big # and he’s paid more than several on field coaches)

I think a few of the departing coaches remained on our payroll. Old DC that left for a staff position in NFL for AZ with a few years left on million dollar per year contract. I bet we paid out that contract. Looked like Coach Chaos was making a million per year before his firing.

I only included Miles because he was listed in the report I read as a new contract. Most consider the strength coach as the 11th assistant, very important position. Hocke is now the Director of Motivation & Testing, a newly created position, just for him. He is still the 3rd highest paid staff member, yes at $750k. Money or no money, Billy was not going to fire him, buddy circle, same with the GameChanger.

The S&C coach actually works with the players more than any other coach. One of most critical hires for a program. Is only coach that can have contact and oversee practices and S&C during non-contact periods in Spring and Summer periods. Has year long connectivity. Has to understand HC system and playbook. Another area we benefit from is having the starting QB to lead unofficial practices in the Spring and summer. Have not had a starting QB back for a second year in quite some time. Trask was the last. Should help the young players and non starters in O tremendously.

Since I don't subscribe to the Orlando fish wrap I couldn't read the article. My question is how close our recruiting budget is to UGA's? Until we catch up to them moneywise, we will always be working at a deficit.

Paychecks are much more effective and is having our own jets and creative accounting makes that hard to compare

Just looked it up. UGA's budget for recruiting budget for 2022 was 4.5 million for football alone. Next after them were the Aggies ay 3.0 million for the same year. Looks like we still have a way to go.

Take a closer look at where the money goes which is hard because you can’t see the accounting. They don’t have their own n jet for instance. It might be closer than you think if we just added 45%. Their charters are a big piece of the pie.

Kirby does have a helicopter which can go anywhere in the state. He sometimes lands it on or near high school campuses. That clearly impresses high school kids.

I thought that was chartered but I’m not sure. That’s still a very limited portion of recruiting trips. There’s an entire roster being recruited and a helicopter doesn’t cover most of it. Nice touch though.

Yep, Kirby charters different helo’s depending on recruit location. The article says Georgia allows for 1.65 mil for charters in their budget. We have our own and spend considerably less in that area.

That helicopter is painted UGA black. I will do some research and see if find out if is chartered. I suppose some of the money is earmarked for UGA lawyers.

The article this year said it’s not just one but a series of rentals.

    Dawgs HQ article.

Yes saw that. Still means he can land it close to or onto high school campuses. Most airports where you land a jet are nowhere near schools. Bottom line is Kirby is doing something right and I hate it.

Yep, definitely a nice touch. I’m more talking about how it shows up on a recruiting budget.
