Trump today: If I lose the election, it will be a bloodbath in this country

Let's see:
He was speaking metaphorically
He was being sarcastic
Some Democrat made a bad statement once
He was joking
Or a dog whistle to his supporters to cause mayhem if he loses.
Irresponsible as hell, but the gop is OK with anything he does or says.

 

He has lost his mind. Trump lost in a "landslide" (by his definition) 3 years ago and America continued along just fine, even better, really ...

 

I add that he believes his supporters will commit hara-kiri if he loses ...

I didn't hear his speech but I really doubt he literally meant a "Blood bath". MY guess is it was more of a figure of speech. Correct me if I am wrong by linking the whole context of what he said.

He was talking about the auto industry when he said it so I think it was just a figure of speech. Poor choice of words though given his history.

 

Exactly Gator515151. I wouldn't have used that terminology myself, but last time I checked we still have a 1st Amendment right to free speech in this country, and that includes Presidents and Former Presidents.

Do you all really want people jailed for thoughts? Do you all hear yourself, you're essentially asking for Minority Report style laws where thoughts are enough for a crime.

For speech to be considered threat it has to be specific and with a time frame. Saying "I want bloodshed" is generalized and not a threat. Saying "I want bloodshed against these individuals and within this amount of time" would be a threat. It's not that hard to figure out.

While not the greatest thing to say, nothing Trump said is even remotely illegal. It was most likely far more of a figure of speech (that a lot of people in this country will be really p*ssed off if Trump loses) than an actual threat. Of course all the leftists here try to turn any word Trump says against him so no surprise.

 

Who said anything about arresting him?We get it, you will defend your orange god no matter what. Have you sent him your money recently? I hear he needs it.

Much of the media jumped on this with headlines like you fell for and restated just to get people riled up.....If anybody is calling for violence it is people like you and the MSM with misleading headlines and lack of details as to what he was really saying. "Bloodbath if you don't elect me" has to do with our and/or China's automobile industry? That's quite a stretch, don't you think? To me, it sounds awfully like what he said leading up to and on January 6.

 

He has used similar language in the past - death and destruction if indicted. He is a punk and a coward so willing to let others do his bad acts.

I just watched the video. Not hard to see it’s being blown out of proportion by MSM.

At least we got another reference by @citygator to how dumb people are that disagree with him.

 

The truth is probably in the middle. I don't think it was a 100% innocent comment but he also didn't explicitly say a literal bloodbath. However, it served as a dog whistle to his supporters who are looking for an excuse for violence if he loses, while at the same time Trump gets to feign ignorance and play the victim when the medi portrays it as such.

 

I hate trump and think anyone who supports him is stupid but here he was referring to the auto industry if the Chinese ev industry isn’t blocked.
