GOP nominee to run North Carolina public schools called for violence against Democrats, including executing Obama and Biden | CNN Politics CNN — The Republican nominee for superintendent overseeing North Carolina’s public schools and its $11 billion budget has a history marked by extreme and controversial comments, including sharing baseless conspiracy theories and frequent calls for the execution of prominent Democrats. Michele Morrow, a conservative activist who last week upset the incumbent Superintendent of Public Instruction in North Carolina’s Republican primary, expressed support in 2020 for the televised execution of former President Barack Obama and suggested killing then-President-elect Joe Biden. I prefer a Pay Per View of him in front of the firing squad,” she wrote in a tweet from May 2020,responding to a user sharing a conspiracy theory who suggested sending Obama to prison at Guantanamo Bay. “I do not want to waste another dime on supporting his life. We could make some money back from televising his death.” Morrow also promoted QAnon slogans and tweeted that the actor Jim Carrey was “… likely searching for adrenochrome” – a reference to a conspiracy theory shared by QAnon believers that celebrities harvest and drink the blood of children to prolong their own lives. Obligatory OP personal comment: OMG!
Republicans are coming after our way of life. Just leave us alone. sound familiar? Brown v Board of Ed… is it long standing tradition with this SCOTUS?
In before the lame ass "well, not ALL republicans feel that way." Enough do and the rest stay silent, which is tacit consent for this kind of shit.
The Republican nominee for the statewide education superintendent of North Carolina, a purple state, has repeatedly called for Democrats to be executed and thinks liberals drink kids blood. You want commentary?? Here you go: this seems problematic.
Between her and the antisemitic conspiracy theorist running for governor, the Republicans are fielding quite a ticket.
I won’t be voting for her. Republicans are finding it harder and harder to win state wide elections here. If it weren’t for gerrymandering we’d be flipping blue any minute now.
Yep. The Republican nominee for governor said the Holocaust was a bunch of hogwash and as Christians we are called to be led by men not women. Also said the kids that survived the Parkland HS shooting and were protesting/advocating for stricter gun laws were Prosti-tots. Says he longs for the day when women couldn't vote. .....will probably be a close race - *sigh NC GOP Nominee Mark Robinson's Worst Comments: Misogyny, Antisemitism
It wasn’t even close Robinson, a former furniture manufacturer who got into politics by defending gun rights after the 2018 Parkland High School shooting, defeated his closest Republican primary challenger by over 45 percentage points
Oh, don’t I know it. As a NPA I can vote either ballot. I chose the Republican ballot just to be able vote against him and trump twice in 1 year - it’s good for the soul. But I meant the General Election against the Dem candidate who is Jewish. Should be fun
It's a political party that supports and promotes kooks and criminals. Many people are saying that it's a criminal organization.
My point, which was poorly and incompletely articulated, is that the Republican won his primary in an overwhelming fashion. Just more evidence that Republicans by and large are a bunch of loons. They keep voting for the nutjobs in overwhelming fashion. That’s probably good for Democratic prospects but it isn’t good when a whole political party has completely lost touch with reality.
Piece on him in WaPo. Rick Scott’s new ad says Dem claims of the GOP War on Women are false A review of Robinson’s social media posts over the past decade shows that he frequently questioned the credibility of women who aired allegations of sexual assault against prominent men, including Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, actor Bill Cosby and now-U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh. In one post, Robinson, North Carolina’s lieutenant governor, characterized Weinstein and others as “sacrificial lambs” being “slaughtered.” Robinson also wrote repeatedly of a 2014 domestic violence encounter involving then-NFL star Ray Rice, who was seen on a surveillance video dragging his apparently unconscious fiancée out of an elevator. In a post directed at Rice’s “lady friend,” Robinson suggested the woman was at fault for the physical altercation. “I’m a 350lb man but aint no way in HELL I’m gonna’ slap no pro football player,” Robinson wrote on Facebook. “I’m to old for an a$$whoopin’.” Plenty of other examples in the article https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/06/18/mark-robinson-domestic-violence-sexual-assault/
