Vanderbilt potentially not our last land mine. Most likely going to get Georgia or Arkansas on Thursday and as of now, both are Q3 games. Although if UGA beat us they'd probably move up to a Q2 loss. Could potentially also get Ole Miss Thursday who would solidly be a Q2 game.

Would suck to lose to UGA in particular, but if we win on Saturday, our resume is pretty well baked. Won’t hurt us much to go out early in the SECT.

Win at Vandy on Sunday (not a done deal) and then flame out at the SEC tournament is not bad. In any event I think we would need to win two games in the SEC tourney to move our needle with respect to seeding. Winning more is both unlikely but would only budge us up a tiny bit and probably not matter.

Am I mistaken or do we play Vandy on Sunday?

Meh. Emotional fatigue isn’t really a thing either, IMO. Not unless it’s something like what happened to KJ on the court. In that case I’d concede emotional fatigue is a lingering factor.

From NCAA.com, big jump in winning percentage from #8 to #5-#7, then another jump to #4.

From simulations at Bartovik.com, we're probably a #5 seed unless we lose to Vandy.

Assumed SEC tourney path is Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee. Sims indicate UF needs to win the first three to move to a possible #4 seed. Winning the SEC could move us solidly to a #4 seed.

My feelings are unchanged, despite the disappointment at Vandy. Florida can play its way into a 4 seed with a tourney win, 5 with a semis appearance. (Assuming 3 and 1 more quad 1 wins respectively in those scenarios)

I think a win Friday and Saturday puts us as 1st 6 seed or last 5th seed. Will be razor thin. I’m sure our Vandy loss will be held against us way more than Kentucky’s home loss to Wilmington will be held against them.

so which game affected our resume more - losing at Vandy or beating Georgia? My guess is losing at Vandy hurt us more than beating UGA benefitted us, but after demolishing Bama at home prior to Vandy I'd say we should be about where we were pre-Bama, which was #24...and a 6 or 7 seed

Very interesting. Number 5 team in the SEC but 27th in the country. So they only rank 4 SEC teams in the top 25. I didn't know the SEC was that bad of a conference. /s

We "should" get a boost for beating the Leg Humpers 3 times in 2024 imo.

Losing to Vandy probably cost us more than a seed line. Almost 2. UGA was an expected win.

Yeah I don't really agree with their seed projection either. Just a site I get updates from after our games.
