What a massive win. I think as of today…..our worst possibly seed will be 7……and we can only go up from there. It might even be 6.
Man I hope not. 22-10 in a great conference, with a handful of quad 1 wins…..that surely should be higher than 8.
Bracket matrix had us as a middle 8 seed as of this AM, and a win we were supposed to get won’t move the needle too much. But they move teams around for seeding too; so we could get lucky there, or some teams around us could take some bad conference tourney losses. Or the committee could give us some credit for the injuries we had in the early season losses. But I would still bet on an 8 as of today. Beat Bama and I think it’s a seven. But would glad to be proven wrong on Sunday.
Based on absolutely nothing but my gut, I think we’re at least a 7, and a 6 at minimum if we beat Bama again. Metrics are huge, but seeding is ultimately done by humans , and I think our recent overall trend will carry weight fingers crossed
I agree, but a USCe loss against Auburn also helps us with the slotting of SEC teams. Don't think we can move past Tennessee, Auburn and Kentucky even if we run the SEC table, we have a shot at being the 4th league team.
8th seed. 7th is best we can hope for IMO. Don’t see how we can get a 6th seed but been wrong many times before.
I think we are on the 7 line after beating UGA. Beat Bama and 5-6 will be in play, just my gut feeling.
That was a huge win for recruiting and the portal too. 5-0 against Georgia in the last 2 years sounds so sweet.
Sim at barttorvik.com has UF as a high #7 seed if we lose to Bama & #5 seed if we beat them & lose to UK.
Irregardless (damn, there I go again), an 8 seed just moves up our time to knock a 1 seed, not the chance to do so, but doing it
If UF won the tourney? If we lose today, 7th would be about as good as one would expect as most metrics seem to have us 7-8. Of course when they create brackets sometimes it doesn’t line up with metrics perfectly because they have to move teams for matchups/geography. There’s a variation +/- of 1 or even 2 seed lines, so (imo) even a 6 might already be in play. If we won the tourney I think our metrics would jump a bit more than it already had during the run, hard to see 7 being the ceiling if we won the SEC tourney as more metrics would be firmly ranked in the 20’s at that point. I think as another poster said, it pretty much goes up 1 line for each win. Maybe not quite 1 per win as a 4 seed seems out of reach, but I could see 5 seed for either reaching the final or winning it all. Something like that is probably our ceiling. Just beating Bama again would be huge for that.
If we made it to the title game I think we'd be a lock for a 6-seed. That would be 2 wins over Bama, probably 2 wins over UK, a win over Auburn too. That's a 6-seed resume, imo.
Is it just me or did coach Mike White seem "different" - rougher around the edges, argumentaive, hell he may have even skipped shaving for a day. Tee'd up! Wow, I don't recall that happening much while at UF. Still have to give him a few props, team finished with a winning record, advanced to the second round and threw a scare into us. But UGA's success against the Gators seemed to happen when they turned the game into a disjointed scramble and series of errors. Awful glad to disappoint Wingtee with this 3rd straight win this year and 11 straight overall against Gawga. Hey Napier - You here that? UF basketballl has whipped the dogs 11 straight times! You feel me??
He recruits good players, and he had a good game plan for last night’s game. As for where I would rank him among coaches in all sports, I honestly am now starting to believe that he is a better coach than the T-ball coach I had when I was four years old.
