It is obvious that pitching needs to improve and what is a bit frustrating at this point is that some of our veterans have seemed to regress for whatever reason. Can't win without excellent pitching. Can't go far without excellent pitching. Hopefully our youth movement in this area will mature/blossom quickly. I wonder if Sully shouldn't have used the portal more for seasoned pitching? We were able to grab an excellent pitcher last year. Meanwhile, Cags is killing it on the mound.
He signed a veteran portal pitcher, but the kid decided to go pro, late. We went after more, but the word on the street is that we were outbid.
You are the powers that be. Do whatever you want and just threaten to sue if the ncaa comes knocking. They’ll fold like a cheap suit.
You make good points but we don’t have many veterans. Some transferred away that could have helped us. Only vet that has regressed is Purnell but he’s been struggling on again off again for a while. I agree with you about the portal but could have helped ourselves if guys didn’t transfer. The guy they talk about from UCLA that signed the pro contract… He’s one guy with transfers and guys being drafted. We needed at least two or three veterans out of the portal especially again since we lost a couple of valuable transfers.

Our “A” game is about to be required three games in a row. Get your minds right Gators—play every single inning with “the game don’t scare me” attitude. This is our house—explain that so that there is no doubt! Let’s get it done Gators!
Strange numbers on sos,, 12 of UFs 16 games are v Q4 & only 3 v Q 1 & 2.. aTm 10 v Q 1 & 2 and only 2 gms v Q4. My best guess is a lot of credit for true road games.. UF has 5 , aTm 1
Absolutely have to bring our A game tonight and especially on the mound. It is time for Fisher to step up as he did vs Texas Tech in the win-or-go-home game Regionals last year. At least 6 strong innings and let Slater and Neely take us home. Gotta grab the Friday night game and set the tone for the weekend… No more F…. around now Gators this is the big time!
Hope @GatorGal is OK with me posting this. Popped up a few minutes ago. As was the case Tuesday, Statbroadcast lists: HP: Jeff Head, 1B: Seth Buckminster, and two guys I've heard of at 2B/3B. (Though now the box score says JH at 3B Tuesday and no Buckminster at all.) Either way, we can upgrade from "Jeff Head Watch" to "Jeff Head Warning".
Steve Russell and Shane Matthews had some interesting things to say about our Friday night pitching assignment, and Steve is pretty locked into Coach Sully
