Spurrier won a conference and didn’t Utah smoke Bama in a bowl. Kiff has no significant wins really. Not much different than Mullen getting ranked at the top till the next week when Bama smoke them. Georgia smoked ole piss just tge same last year. Kiff is on tge rise but he is not proven to be a top flight coach just yet.
Thought you meant national championships, not the ACC and/or the WAC. Didn’t Napier win the Sunbelt Championship at his time there? You would put your money on him head-to-head against Kiffin on a neutral field, even if he had Kiffin’s players and Kiffin had Napier’s?
Spurrier won the ACC at Duke, so that's a big yes. Urban's Utah teams won its conference both years he was there, so that's a big yes. I'm surprised you even asked that question. Now back to Kiffin . . . . where's his championship pedigree as a head coach?
Agree Kiffin hasn't won the big game yet,, but he has accomplished far more at ole miss than Mullen ever did at cowbell State.. Mullen won 10 games once in 9 years at MSU and had a losing sec record. Kiffin has already won 10 games twice in 4 years and has a winning SEC record.
Kiff hasn’t even won a division yet. He has a pulse but not much yet to go on. All our failure coaches have won 10 games.
Like Saban's 67.1% of his games as head coach of Michigan State and LSU? Yes, I remember his natty at LSU (Florida handed him his only loss), but also remembering his mediocrity with the Dolphins. Bottom line. Not every team has to get a HoF'er head coach to have a great hire.
