At the end of the day the top end recruits are not going to dump SEC and Big Ten schools for HBCU's that can only pay them 1/20th of what they could make in the SEC or Big Ten with NIL. Most HBCU's are barely surviving as it is. Talk about going against your own self interest. And yes it will be Big Ten schools as well. I could easily see similar legislation being passed in states like Indiana (they don't call it the Alabama of the Midwest for nothing), Iowa, Nebraska and even Ohio. It would be Illinois too if Chicago didn't run that entire state. For regular black students maybe the NAACP recommendation will get some of them to literally self segregate (don't I remember a guy named Martin Luther King Jr. who fought against segregation? what would he think now?) and go to HBCU's when they otherwise wouldn't have. But for the top tier black athletes and the vast majority of the top tier black students it won't have an effect.
As Jesus once said, You should read the dumb shit you write here everyday before casting stones ... something like that ...
And if Martin Luther King Jr. was alive now I'm sure leftists would be completely on board with his views of gays and lesbians, never mind his views on abortion. More importantly though, MLK Jr. would be saddened by how badly his dream has been distorted. MLK Jr. wanted a world where race didn't matter. Where people were treated as individuals and not just lumped in with various groups. Most importantly, a world where racism truly was eliminated. We haven't eliminated racism. Racism is as alive as it's ever been. The only thing the left has done is changed who it's okay to be racist against. And the left treats every race as some monolithic group and ignores that people are individuals. I'm not saying MLK Jr. would be aligned with the right. But I know this, MLK Jr. would not support what the left has become and he would not align himself with the modern day left.
Yeah I wonder what MLK would think about the right’s attempts to eliminate him and other black Civil Rights figures from the history books.
About as much as I think MLK Jr. would think about the left's cult like religious like devotion to abortion and killing babies. MLK Jr. was abhorred by and staunchly against abortion. MLK Jr. would've supported the overturning of Roe v Wade. Pretty sure that would get a lot of the left not to like him.
Not as much as he was abhorred by blatant racism. Which the MAGA aka righty party has embraced full-on.
You've now made two posts about MLK and from that I can tell that you only know the sanitized version of him that right wingers spew all the time.
I know his history well enough to know righties should keep his name out of their mouths. His own children would tell you their father wouldn’t be rockin with the racist-peddling right if he was alive today.
