It's your side who always talks about black coaches being underrepresented while ignoring that, using the same metric, black players are overrepresented. One makes you outraged, the other you conveniently ignore. Tell me the last time you saw a commercials that didn't have a black person in it. I can tell you several commercials that don't have a single white person in it, but every commercials nowadays has at least one black person. Black people make up 14% of the U.S. population. That's not even an opinion, that is a statistical fact. Hispanics, not Blacks, are actually the largest U.S. minority and it's not even that close. So why do you not complain about Hispanics being underrepresented in commercials? Being underrepresented in coaching? Or in college sports in general? Blacks are far more represented in commercials than Hispanics despite the fact that Hispanics are the far larger population. See the difference between you and me is I don't care because I believe in meritocracy. The best person gets the job. The best person gets the scholarship. I don't care about quotas and DEI. In fact I utterly hate DEI for one reason. The E in DEI is for Equity, not Equality. We all know equality is about equal opportunities. Equity is about equal outcomes with no regard to the effort, skill or talent involved. Take hiring for example. Equality is everyone gets the same opportunity to apply for the position and is considered equally, regardless of race, sex, religion, etc. Equity though is "we have 7 open spots and 5 must go to minority candidates regardless of qualifications". Equity is "well this position has to be filled by a black person to meet racial quotas", even if there is a better qualified white person or even a better qualified person from another minority group". Equality is students being given the same materials for a project and then being graded equally on that project. Equity is everyone receives the same grade regardless of the effort given on the project. I support Equality. I despise and will never support Equity.
Have you taken one of these DEI tests when hired by a company? They do not focus on one race, make you as a white person feel bad, or impose any questionable ideals on you.
