And adding on to Ocala, Jocy has done an incredible job in helping to settle them down. Watching her work behind the plate with her body language and defensive is bringing back thoughts of my all time greatest catcher, Aubrey. Her arm and bat are also a GIANT plus. What a pickup for Tim and what a loss for OU!
These girls have to stay on their game this week. Schedule looks easy but it isn't. Indiana is 19 & 4. They beat Oregon and lost to Clemson and Arizona by one. Stetson's record is not great but they can play well on occasion. They lost to Tennessee and Washington by one. Mercer on the other hand is a different story. Scrappy could start in the circle and the Gators would be just fine.
Jocey is going to a force behind the plate for the next three years. Her demeanor behind the dish and at the plate gives confidence to the pitchers and to the rest of her teammates. She was definitely a steal. Her Mom tells me via messages on Messenger that Jocey is as happy as she ever had been playing softball. My observations have validated her Mom’s statements.
The parents sat behind us in Tampa and are super nice. They said exactly what she told you. If Jocey and Korbe are not here, this would be a different team. I would say they are the best transfers ever if there wasn’t a blonde shortstop whose name escapes me. LOL
The first base coach wasn’t a bad transfer either, I believe she is mentoring AK on how to play third base quite well.
Tough Competition The LSU softball team ran its record to 22-0 over the weekend with a sweep at Kentucky. Ranked No. 3 last week, the Tigers host No. 1 Texas at 11 a.m. at Tiger Park on Tuesday, quite obviously their biggest test yet.
On TV, it looked like Bama left the field after games one and two without shaking hands. For those of y’all at the game, was this accurate?
Completely agree but I don't think this will happen until the arrival of Comia, Townson, Lamar and Oxley. Then look out. These last two recruiting classes could eventually become the greatest college softball team ever assembled.
Isn’t that normal? They only do the handshake line at the close of the series, and only if both teams want to.
Having met D’Angelo several times, he is a super guy. He can be annoying at times. But, he just cheers and never puts the other team down. In 2019, Sandman70 and I attended the World Cup of Softball in Columbus, GA. One game we were sitting behind home plate right behind the screen. We were on TV every pitch. Here comes D’Angelo and gets right behind us doing his act. This went on about 30 minutes, and one of the ladies with whom we had interacted came and said all fans in those seats and D had to move. We were not happy. Later she told us ESPN was tired of D being on television every pitch.
Is there a schedule change for the Indiana Saturday game? I heard a rumor that there was a change from 2:30 to Noon on the SEC+ Network. Is it just a rumor? I need to know, I am coming from Georgia for the game.
