Watch as Flau’jae Johnson intentionally fouls MiLaysia Fulwiley after she stole the ball, which turns into several players from both the South Carolina Gamecocks and the LSU Tigers leaving the bench and Kamilla Cardoso shoving Johnson to the ground. A fan also tried to jump the media table and enter the scuffle. As a result, every player disqualified for fighting was ejected and will be ineligible to play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Every player who left the bench was ejected but not given any type of suspension. The fan who tried to enter the court was arrested. After the scuffle and all the ejections, only a 5-on-5 game remained.
I gotta say, this type of behavior has become much more common in the women's game than in the men's game. Something must be done to curb it before next season. This is unacceptable. Glad to hear that the DQ players are also ineligible for the first round of the NCAAT. Both teams are at fault here, but from what I can see, SCe was by far the worst offender. Cardoso should be DQ'd from the rest of the season. What she did was dangerous. Maybe battery charges are in order.
LSU started this mess a while back, then they continued provoking S. Carolina during the game. Reese was out there pulling players hair from behind. Cardoso should be suspended for the next game and someone needs to tell LSU to cut that crap out (intentional fouls, hair pulls). It's got no place in the game.
They play dirty and get mad when someone takes a cheap shot. Good for South Carolina on beating them and punking them in the process.
#4 commits an intentional frustration foul and elbows a USC player in the chin after whistle is blown. She should have been kicked out of game and suspended indefinitely. She was the reason all that crap happened.
IMO- looking at the comments on our games the officiating in the women's game is pretty bad- much worse than the men's. When you have poor officials, then a lot gets let go, and the fuses get short. Just a thought...
First off I blame the refs for not putting an end to it in the beginning. Secondly, KM teams has always played dirty. Dawn apologized to how her team reacted, meanwhile Mulkey fans the flames during her PC. You don’t want Cardoso to push your player? Cool stop instigating and get your team under control.
Agree that Mulkey's teams play dirty and that's how they won the title last year. So does SC. Cardoso is a thugette and should miss the rest of the season. Stop making excuses for her.
Thought Staley showed some class. Mulkey though......she's a piece of work...... LSU coach Kim Mulkey took issue with the officiating. She also called out the 6-7 Cardoso targeting Johnson, who is 5-10. Mulkey suggested Angel Reese, listed at 6-3, would have made for a more appropriate target. “No one wants to be a part of that,” Mulkey said postgame. “No one wants to see that ugliness. “But I can tell you this, I wish she would have pushed Angel Reese. Don’t push a kid. You’re 6-8, don’t push somebody that little. That was uncalled-for, in my opinion. Let those two girls that were jawing, let them go at it.” South Carolina-LSU fight in SEC Women’s Tournament championship leads to ejections
Cardoso pushed #4 LSU player - yes very hard but after #4 committed hard foul and pushed a USC player. You really think she should be out for the rest of the season? You must know more about her than I do. I did see her get her hair pulled in a twitter post also by LSU player.. Just comparing all that to that dirty elbow thrown against Cordon which got offender a one game suspension. Seems like orders of magnitude in difference. Mulkey's comments were disgusting and trashy. Women's league seems like they're in the sewer compared to men's. Glad the men's side is on the up and up <sarcasm>.
I saw one LSU player get shoved to the floor. Not sure why people are calling for crazy suspensions and such. This was next to nothing.
