Precisely. I don’t see Lane Kiffin begging for faith in his process. The results just speak for themselves.
Everyone is a hard azz right now. I'm cutting the guy some slack. No game until the end of summer. What did you expect him to say?
So after $21M and an army of analysts a result of "loving to see us showing up and trying to play in the" Poulan Independence Weed Eater Bowl is what we have become... To know some of us think this dismal result is now something we would love to see...uggh. I sure hope we are much better than that.
My point is different. I won’t be buying into the raw-raw, and I won’t be condemning. In other words, I’m not being critical of him and I’m not cheering. I am indifferent to his coach-speak, at least for now. Win the games on the field. Or don’t.
The thread is about CBN’s press confrence after the first spring practice of 2024. Your commentary about that press conference is to bellyache and power whine about the last two years- smh I tell ya, Doering nailed it when he called Gator fans the worst in the country.
You really think the fans at Bama would be tolerant and patient after the last two years’ results? Or Georgia? Or LSU? I think not.
Well, we aren’t. That kind of outcome is about the best we can realistically hope for right now. My hope is a bit different than yours: I hope we aren’t worse than that. Because if we lock down a losing season in the first half of the year (entirely plausible), then we are going to be staring down the barrel of a Gator Civil War between those who understand we need to move on from this guy and those who think he should get five years no matter how bad his performance is. I hope Napier just nails it this year and we get that elusive winning season at last. That might not seem like much a goal, but it’s what’s needed badly right now.
Id bet his patience has run out over the last 5 years of Gator losses. Id love to know how patient good ole Spurrier would be if Doering caught 5 passes and dropped 7 including the last 5 passes in a row. Ill tell you the answer... he wouldnt be getting anymore time on the field and any more passes thrown his way as a Gator.
In all fairness, the guy has had plenty of slack. Need some real indicators year 3 looks measurably different than years 1 and 2
I hope he is “fluent.” Because he has roughly one year to finish his dissertation in this new language or find himself out of the PhD program.
