With the SEC tournament grind coming up hope we have the luxury of keeping Pullen and Clayton's minutes to about 30 minutes each. Would love to see Aberdeen play 15 meaningful minutes today against Vandy.
We have 4 nights off after this game before our first SECT game, if Pullin isn’t ready due to playing 34 minutes instead of 28 we are in trouble regardless.
I would agree if it wasn't the SEC tournament, where we could play 4 straight days. I also want to see Aberdeen get some more minutes, because he will likely be needed next weekend. Also factoring in that the likelihood of getting the double bye is remote.
Wouldn't mind seeing him get some minutes today and continuing to build his confidence. Moreso just to provide additional depth heading into the SEC tournament.
I got a feeling vandy is gonna press, trap and zone like crazy. This will be a very good test for our guys.
He and Haugh and Kugel should get a bunch of minutes, unless it is going to cost us the game, to get them in a good flow for tournament season. They bring a lot of good defense.
They will, but don’t have the depth to sustain a press for 40 minutes thankfully. Zone is much more interesting, gotta think we worked on both the last few days.
it is a red brick building, state of the art when built, I believe in the sixties, but when you go inside you have to walk up stairs to get to your seats, only a couple of old elevators. Of course the floor is elevated 3 1/2 feet, which gives a weird feeling to teams. It feels like a large high school gym with roll out wooden bleachers down low. It is hard to not be focus there. Of course Vandy is last in the conference but has played surprisingly. Lost two of their best players to transfer. They always get up for Florida. Hope we can meet their intensity and come out with a win, this won’t be easy, especially after the Bama game.
First priority is to win the game. However many minutes Pullin has to play to do that is what will happen.
In his first couple seasons, stackhouse ran a unique, trapping defense. I haven’t seen it this season. I’m sure he will mix things up today.
Clayton averages 31.1 mpg Zyon averages 33.6 mpg What is it that you think we would accomplish by keeping them to 30 minutes as opposed to playing their average minutes? Denzel's playing time should be dictated by what the team needs in order to win... nothing else.
People here have been running wild with the fresh legs narrative. I don't get why, but many here think that a few minutes of play affect our players' legs 3-4 days later.
Lol, here's a comment from Nate Oats. "It looked like we were tired tonight...We've got to do a better job. We're off tomorrow. We need to get rested, get with the trainer, get a bunch of treatment....Make sure we're not going too hard Thursday, Friday. Get their bodies, minds fresh and ready to play Saturday, and try to make a run in Nashville". Shame on him for talking about keeping guys fresh for a game 3 days later. Complete amateur.
