Its gonna suck when he finds out the Kirby was trying to hurt us and not really help them/him.

RB's fall out of the trees at both places, so I dont see how he suddenly becomes a star there.

The freshman that played in the Orange Bowl was mighty good. I think that it’s telling that they didn’t announce ETN’s destination until AFTER signing day. Didn’t want to lose anyone potentially better than he is.

    P.S. I’ve been a Gator fan starting before I was a freshman in 1963.

Agree. Except that’s like saying Snowden is my least favorite American. He made his choice. He’s not one.

My expectations are lower. I hope it still matters whether he has a career day by the time we get to that game.

I’m not sure if I’ll watch or not. I rarely watch nfl anymore and I can see college fading for me too. NFL isn’t lacking fans though so they aren’t missing me.

    I don't consider him a Gator.

He'a doing what he thinks is in his best interest and he's trying to make football his livelihood so he has to do what he thinks is best.

All the same, not a Gator.

Opposite for me. I have enjoyed the NFL more than college football for the past ten years save for the Gators Trask era and the 2018 season prior. Some of that is because the Gators turmoil but moreso it's because the NFL makes no illusions about what they are. Grew up a chiefs fan but I don't care either way if they win or lose a game because it's just pros playing for corporations. It makes it easier to just enjoy the product on the field. The obvious resource advantage thatBama, georgia and osu have enjoyed without scrutiny has made the facade of college football just less enjoyable for me.

Issue was, ETN would have big plays with his quickness/cuts because of our porous Oline. But his inability to block also resulted in more plays where the defense keyed on the run and causing him to have negative yards. Overall, the numbers were similar between the two backs, but ETN is like Barry Sanders and Trell is like Terrell Davis.

That’s a good comparison, and Terrell Davis would rarely leave his quarterback with third down in 15.

If Etienne wants to win, fine, but I just don't see him getting substantially more carries for the Dawgs.

Last season he got 131 carries to Johnson's 152 carries and Etienne missed a little time to injury.

Last season UGA had one RB with 164 carries and one with 121. In 2022, UGA had one RB with 150 and one with 140. In 2021, they had one with 160 and one with 113. (The one with 113 is doing well in the NFL right now.) You have to go back to 2020 for a true bellcow back season where Zamir White had 144 carries and James Cook got 44.

Once again, White has been the better NFL player. As recently as when Etienne was a senior in high school, UGA did not know how to give its best RB the most carries.

“That’s definitely something I’d say that Florida didn’t have, our locker room wasn’t the closest. We got along, but coming here and seeing how all the guys get along, I feel like having those skull sessions, I feel like that plays a big part.”

Blah blah or you guys think it may be accurate?

ESPN has also tagged him the best RB in the SEC this year, not that I put a lot of stock in them.

Meh....that's just the player version of "coach" speak. Personally, I don't think ETN is even the best rb on UGA which is scary. ETN is a home run hitter, but the best sec rb for me will be the one you can count on to make the tough short yardage when the line is stacked. I don't think that's his forte. Get him in space and he's golden, but so are a lot of other rbs.

I have no problem believing that may be an accurate description of organizational culture the last two seasons. And winning would go a long ways toward curing that.

I think it's clear UGA has a great locker room. The lack of opt-outs in the Orange was one sign of that.
Winning helps solidify and confirm what a coach says, so that goes a long way.
But certainly Kirby has done a good job too.

As for UF- our culture has been ok.
It's clear to me that Mullen let it go to trash and it's a hard thing to fix.
Especially when the losses mount...CBN has improved it IMO.

I can't help but wonder if Etienne also HURT our locker room given the rb2 nonsense.
Shows me he wasn't bought in.
But he won't hurt UGA's. It's too strong...
