St. Mary's (it took me a while to find the right one) College in Morega California (E of Oakland, between Oakland and Walnut Creek) is coming to town. They are the Gaels (had to look that one up too) which are Scottish Celts or Highlanders. Brave Heart comes to Gainesville! St. Mary's is currently 8-4 (0-0 in the West Coast Conference - same as Gonzaga). It’s time for our ball team to get their minds right and dial in on whoever happens to be in the opposing dugout. We need to pitch both tough and smart, play hard nosed defense, be aggressive and smart on the bases, and hit it where it’s pitched—all game long every single game. Piece of cake, right? Let’s do this Gators!
Folks, I may make it into town for this one, and need a little help, please. If I’m able to attend it’ll be the first Gators baseball game I’ve seen in person since 1979. Has anything changed? Where do you park for baseball? Can I buy a ticket at the gate? Thanks.
I believe if you buy a ticket at the window and you say you don't have the app they will text you a barcode to scan to get in with.
Lower level reserved seats are sold out for the season, so only berm tix will be available at ticket office. Club level seats may be available at a premium price, but it's a nice place to sit with a good view and free food. Best bet for tix will be Ticketmaster, StubHub, etc. While sitting low in the grandstand is extra fun, ANY of the reserved seats are good, so you won't be unhappy with the cheapest reserved seats available. That will mean you have to download to a smart phone, which takes a couple of minutes to learn, but will be useful in the future if you go to other athletic events, a concert or even a movie. Even berm tix are MUCH easier to buy online at FloridaGators.com, rather than waste time at the ticket office. Digital tix now are the standard for most venues. We old folks are better off if we keep up with these things. Google and Apple both have wallet apps depending on the type of phone you have- am I going too far to guess you have a smart phone? If you do get berm tix, come early to get a good spot and bring something to sit on or you'll get a wet butt- probably will rain some during Friday afternoon. If you arrive early enough, you might like grabbing an Adirondack chair in the outfield. Not a great view through the fence at ground level, but still a nice, comfortable place to watch the game. Neither lacrosse nor softball will be playing on Friday, so parking won't be awful, but the main lot will be full well before 6:00. There is an event at the performing arts ctr, so that lot will be somewhat busy, but the lot at Fifel Hall is reasonably close and should have plenty space available. In addition to parking, it's good to come an hour early to cruise the stadium. Walking the entire concourse is pleasant and gives you an idea of what a nice place it is. Food is OK, but expensive, food trucks usually have a few decent options. The $12 ice cream cones are tasty.
Thank you/all for the advice/support; VERY helpful. I do struggle with apps, but can wave my phone over devices and Apple Pay for stuff (yes, look at me go)!
Either they have outstanding starting pitching or they haven't been challenged: FRI: LHP 2-0 0.57 SAT: LHP 1-0 1.88
Good question. Those are some very nice numbers, though either way, I would assume those numbers are going to rise this weekend.
Was talking to some friends about this recently, wondering what sort of future technology the millennials/GenY/GenZ/whatever we’re calling it these days will struggle with in 30-50 years.
