Maidan was her baby. This means the innards of the U.S. government have already made the decision to pull out of Ukraine. The politicking may continue for the sake of politicking, but zero chance she resigns if the United States had any real prospect of doubling down on Ukraine. We’re out. This is good news. It’s too bad Biden won’t take a victory lap with it. Or will he? You never know.

As long as the words can persuade people to support Mother Russia (or not support Russia's opponents), then they are good words, and they must be said loudly and often.

She’s being replaced by a man who superintended the pullout of the American War on Afghans. This suggests the possibility that the Biden administration realizes it’s lost another proxy war and, with an election coming, the need to devise an off-ramp.
